Panyak Sent Packing

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Jose Galindo opened for 1,300 and received a call from the player on the button. Maxim Panyak then moved all in for roughly 6,000 from the big blind, Galindo called, and the other player folded.

Galindo: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Panyak: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

It was a classic race, but not one Panyak would win as the board ran out a dry {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

Everybody Knows Viktor

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Viktor Blom
Viktor Blom

Viktor Blom made the opening raise and called the small blind shove of Ami Barer. We got to the table as Blom had his {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} in front of him versus the {k-Spades}{j-Hearts} of Barer.

The final board was {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and Blom’s patient approach reaped the rewards.

One player commented, “Must be nice to be Viktor.” Bloms days of anonymity must seem so far behind him now.

The EPT10 Vienna Skrill Last Longer Competition Draws 98 More

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Skrill
Skrill

Registration is now closed for the Skrill Last Longer in Vienna. Yesterday we reported 62 players signed up for the competition, and today 98 more (18% of the field) joined them. That brought the total number of participants up to 160 players.

The Skrill Last Longer competition is being held at each stop on this season’s EPT, of which they’re an official sponsor. The promotion is simple – players sign up for the promotion either online (preregistration is available) or at the Skrill booth (which will be present at each stop); don a Skrill patch; and then aim to be the last man or woman standing. The last player remaining will then receive their buy-in back via their Skrill account.

While Skrill is upping the ante for Season 10 with a bigger branding initiative, this isn’t their first appearance on the EPT; as a matter of fact, they were a sponsor of Season 8 and have held previous “Last Longer” promotions.

The company’s website provides a bit more information on Skrill, which rebranded from Moneybookers back in 2010:

“Skrill has been moving money digitally since 2001. We offer online payment solutions for businesses and consumers, allowing them to pay and get paid globally. Over 36 million account holders already trust Skrill. Our customers can send and receive money worldwide in 200 countries and 40 currencies, securely and at low cost, without revealing their personal financial details. Your business will benefit from our worldwide payment network with over 100 payment options. Whether through a simple one-step integration or a fully-tailored payment solution. Whoever you are, however you like to pay or get paid, trust Skrill to make your online payments simpler, faster and safer.”

Headquartered in London, Skrill is looking to make their presence known in the poker world with a commitment to customer satisfaction through innovation and service. Not only that, they’re looking to be more than just a company by becoming a trusted and respected member of the poker community.

Hansen Doesn't Win This One

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen

The board showed {2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} when Hansen check-called a 2,800-chip bet from the player on his left. The turn brought out {5-Diamonds} and quickly both players checked.

On the river the {2-Diamonds} popped up and Hansen lead out for 9,100. After a short hesitation his opponent called.

"I'm not gonna win this hand," Hansen smiled, before he repeated himself and showed {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Hansen's opponent showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and he took down this pot.

Demidov Slides Again

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Russian PokerStars player Ivan Demidov opened for 1,100 out of a stack of 13k. Beiyan Yu with a similar stack size raised to 2,300 and got a caller from the button who had them both covered. Back on Demidov who asked how much it was and made the call.
In the end it was checked all the way down on a final board reading {2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. “Queen high.” Said Demedov and turned over {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Yu turned over {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and that was the winning hand.
