Roy Up to 650

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jonathan Roy
Jonathan Roy

Jonathan Roy, who has been on a heater as of late, apparently busted Hannu Peltola in a hand where the Finnish player called all in on the river holding {Q-}{J-}. The board was jack high so Peltola had top pair. That hand wasn't good enough as Roy tabled kings for the winning hand.

Stokkan Drawing Dead

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Michel Abecassis opened from middle position and got one caller from the big blind, Norwegian PokerStars player Preben Stokkan. They saw a flop of {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Stokkan checked and then called a bet of 13,000 from Abecassis.

The turn card was the {k-Clubs} and Stokkan checked again. Abecassis bet 22,000 and Stokkan moved all in. Abecassis shrugged and made the call tabling {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. Stokkan was drawing dead with the river {j-Diamonds} making no difference.

On the Fritz

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Austrian PokerStars Player Lukas Fritz moved all in and his tournament life was at risk when he was called by another PokerStars player Gergely Rona. Fritz had {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} versus the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} of Rona.

The dealer put out {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Fritz couldn’t improve and his Vienna EPT was at an end.

Joentausta Stays Alive

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Finnish pro Aku Joentausta just managed to double up to keep his EPT Vienna hopes alive. Joentausta was all in holding {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} versus Michael Tabarelli's {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and the board ran out {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

Joentausta's still among the short stacks but this double up gives him a little more breathing room.

Nice Hand

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Spanish PokerStars player Hector Alvarez Rodriguez shoved for 28,000. Behind him Matthias Kurschner re-shoved and the got it heads up. Rodriguez had {k-Spades}{4-Spades} and had run into the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} of Kurschner.

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. There wasn’t much Kurschner could say about that except. “Nice hand.”
