Suchanek Doubles Through Panka

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We caught up to find three players including Dominik Panka and Jan Suchanek engaged in a hand on a flop of {q-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. With about 28,000 already in the middle, the first player checked over to Panka who did the same. Suchanek reached for chips and slid 23,000 past the betting line. The first player called and Panka responded by moving all in over the top. Suchanek quickly called for his own tournament life of just over 50,000 and the other player let go of his cards.

Panka: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Suchanek: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Panka led with kings up but Suchanek was drawing live with four to a club flush. The {j-Spades} fell on fourth street, keeping Panka in the lead. That all changed, however, when the {8-Clubs} came on the river to complete Suchanek's flush. He scooped the pot and now sits on about 152,000 in chips. Panka, on the other hand, was left crippled at just 15,000.

Chan Takes One from Egan

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Ping San Chan opened to 2,600 from the hijack seat, and then Michael Egan reraised to 8,000 from the cutoff position. Play folded back to Chan, and he made the call.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}, and both players checked to see the {5-Spades} land on the turn. Again, both checked, and the river was the {6-Clubs}. Chan bet 5,000, and Egan folded.

One for Metaal

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

From the cutoff seat, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier raised to 2,500. Govert Metaal called from the small blind, and Haralabos Voulgaris called from the big blind.

The flop was {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, and play checked around to see the {J-Spades} land on the turn. Metaal led with a bet of 4,000, and both Voulgaris and Grospellier folded.

Merhej Doubles Through Pavlov

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Ivan Pavlov opened with a raise to 2,500 from early position and Andrey Zaichenko flat called from two seats over. It folded all of the way around to Chady Merhej in the big blind and he three-bet shipped for his last 30,500. Pavlov moved all in over the top, sending Zaichenko into the tank. In the end, Zaichenko let it go and the hands were exposed.

Pavlov: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Merhej: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The board fell {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{j-Hearts}[9d, keeping Merhej's ace-king high out in front. He scored the double and now has about 70,000 to his name.

Blain Triples Through Stern and Vamplew

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

David Vamplew opened the action with a raise to 2,500 from middle position. It folded around to Dani Stern in the cutoff and he three-bet the action to 7,000. The button and small blind folded, putting action on Dermot Blain in the big blind. He four-bet shoved for his last 33,900. Vamplew thought for a moment before moving all in over the top for his last 53,500. Stern called and all three hands were turned on their backs.

Stern: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Vamplew: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Blain: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Vamplew was in a commanding position with his pocket aces and he stayed in the lead as the flop fell {5-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}. The {2-Clubs} hit the felt on fourth street, leaving him one card away from scooping a massive pot. Unfortunately for Vamplew, the {10-Spades} drilled the river to give Blain a set of tens. He took down the main pot while Vamplew won the side pot from Stern. With this victory, Blain's stack has increased to about 105,000.
