Luca Shoves River on Rossiter

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ivan Luca
Ivan Luca

On a {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop we saw Ivan Luca check-call a bet from the small blind after Jeff Rossiter had tossed in 40,000 from the big blind. The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Luca check-called another 95,000 chips.

The river was the {6-Hearts} and now Luca opted to move all in, putting Rossiter at risk. Rossiter folded and Luca took down this pot.

Holz Makes Miracle Escape

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

On a flop of {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs} Mustapha Kanit and Fedor Holz got their chips in. Holz was the one moving in (for 409,000) and Kanit was the one calling. Kanit had by far the best hand holding {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} as Holz showed just {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The {5-Spades} on the turn in combination with the {9-Clubs} on the river gave Holz a higher straight, and so he received the pot worth a million chips.

Newey Wins a Small One

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Paul Newey raised under the gun to 25,000 and both blinds, Max Altergott and Haralabos Voulgaris, called.

The flop brought out {7-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Spades} and the action was checked to Newey who bet 38,000 and only Altergott called.

On the turn, the {K-Spades}, and the river, the {2-Diamonds}, the action was checked and Newey tabled {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} to take down the pot.

Vogelsang Sends Stern to the Rail

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

November Niner Ofer Zvi Stern has just hit the rail. He got his chips in from the button with {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} up against Christoph Vogelsang in the hijack with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. The flop came {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} making for some chopped pot outs, but the {J-Diamonds} on the turn and {8-Clubs} on the river brought none of that. Both made a pair but Stern's rivered eight wasn't good enough to keep him in the tournament.

Urbanovich Takes D'Auteuil's Chips

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We missed the precise preflop action but we were there for the showdown as Philippe D'Auteuil and Dzmitry Urbanovich got their chips in before any community cards were spread.

D'Auteuil had {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts} while Urbanovich was the proud owner of {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. The board ran out {K-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades} giving D'Auteuil two pair but Urbanovich the winning straight.

D'Auteuil is extremely short now, Urbanovich in comfortable position to start Season 12 like he ended Season 11; in top form.

Loosli Triples In Three-Way Clash

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Sylvain Loosli
Sylvain Loosli

Steve O'Dwyer opened to 28,000, and then Sylvain Loosli moved in for 150,000 from the hijack seat. Michael Egan was on the button and made the call. As if that wasn't enough action, Mike Watson shoved from the big blind for 422,000. O'Dwyer folded, Egan made the call, and a three-way all-in clash was produced.

Loosli had the {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} and was trailing both Egan with the {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and Watson with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. But, the cards would fall his way on the {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} board and he tripled up.

On the other hand, Watson did gain some chips from the side pot despite losing the main pot.

Newey Doubles Up Baziakouski

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Three players were involved in the action when we arrived on the scene, with Mikita Badziakouski all in for his tournament life. It looked as though Imad Derwiche had raised to 30,000, Badziakouski shoved all in for 184,000, and Paul Newey came over the top for 684,000 from the big blind. Derwiche went into the tank for a long time, but eventually folded, and it was Badziakouski's {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} versus Newey's {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}.

The board ran out {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Spades}, and Badziakouski doubled up with a set of queens.

Muehloecker and Margereson Hit the Rail

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Thomas Muehloecker - busted
Thomas Muehloecker - busted

Thomas Muehloecker and Ivan Luca got their chips in the middle before the flop. Muehloecker didn't have a lot of chips to start the hand with and was drawing slim with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Luca showed the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}.

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and Muehloecker made his way to the exit without saying a word.

"Ooh, ooh, Luca!" laughed Luca's countryman, Carlos Mironiuk, "Ooh, la la!"

A couple of tables over, Scott Margereson was seen getting up and gathering his stuff as well, though we didn't catch his bust out hand.
