Wow, Wow, Wow! Full Double for Urbanovich to 3.6 Million

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Jason Les - Dzmitry Urbanovich

"Sometimes you eat the bear... and sometimes the bear eats you." — The Big Lebowski

Tournament poker can be a cruel, unruly endeavor. At times, the little bit of luck involved in the game can get the best of you despite how well you may play. Just ask Phil Hellmuth how that goes. Other times, it's just the unfortunate situation of running a very big hand into another very big hand when there's not much that could've be done to avoid it. For Jason Les, he fell victim to the latter after a crazy cooler of a hand against Dzmitry Urbanovich.

The action started with pay folding to JC Alvarado on the button. He raised to 60,000, and then Les opted to three-bet to 180,000. In the big blind was Urbanovich, and he took his time before placing out a four-bet to 399,000. Alvarado quickly ducked out of the way, but then Les went into the tank. After a minute or two, Les announced that he was all in for around 1.9 million total. Urbanovich quickly looked back at his cards, then called, creating a massive pot of over 3.6 million in chips.

When the cards were revealed, Urbanovich tabled the {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} to do one better than Les' {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. Following a runout of {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs}, Urbanovich had won the hand and the counting of the stacks began.

Urbanovich's stack was counted down to 1.793 million — a massive amount for a full double. Les had just over 100,000 more than that and sent over the chips to award the young Polish star his due. Then on the next hand, the rest of his stack was passed Max Altergott's way.

Altergott had opened with a raise and Les went all in. Altergott made the call for the extra bit of chips and displayed the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Les had the {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The board came {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, and Les was eliminated.

Tollerene Gets Two Streets of Value

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Ben Tollerene raised to 70,000 from the hijack seat on his short-handed table. Just Mike McDonald called from the big blind, and the flop came down {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. McDonald check-called a bet of 90,000, and then he checked again on the {9-Diamonds} turn. Tollerene checked behind, and the {3-Clubs} landed on the river. McDonald checked once more, and Tollerene bet 160,000. McDonald called, and Tollerene showed the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. McDonald mucked, and Tollerene won the pot.

Luca Takes One Off Tollerene

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Mike McDonald raised to 65,000, and both blinds, Ben Tollerene and Ivan Luca, opted to call. The flop brought out the {4-Spades}{K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, and all three players checked.

On the turn, the {6-Spades} hit and again action was checked. The river brought the {J-Clubs} and now Tollerene led out for 160,000. Luca opted to make the call, but McDonald flung his cards to the muck.

Tolerance showed the {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, but that was no good against Luca's {K-Diamonds}{2-Spades}.

Holz Slipping; Vogelsang Climbing

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Amidst the chaos of the final three tables we just saw Christoph Vogelsang rake in a decent-sized pot against Fedor Holz.

The final board showed {5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}{K-Spades}{2-Diamonds} when Vogelsang bet 180,000. Holz made the call, and Vogelsang tabled the {K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for top pair. He won the pot, as Holz mucked his hand and dropped some chips.

Shorties Going to War

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer opened to 71,000 from the hijack and Ivan Luca on the button three bet to 176,000. Both blinds folded and O'Dwyer made the call.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades} and O'Dwyer checked. Luca instantly checked behind and both players checked as well on the {4-Clubs} on the turn.

The river came the {10-Diamonds} and O'Dywer bet out 185,000 with 538,000 behind. Luca tanked for a bit but opted to fold in the end.

Imad Derwich Eliminated

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Imad Derwiche
Imad Derwiche

Igor Kurganov raised to 68,000 from the cutoff and Imad Derwich in the small blind made the call. Christoph Vogelsang in the big blind thought for just a bit before over calling.

The flop came {6-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} and Derwich bet out 150,000. Vogelsang made the call, Kurganov almost instantly folded.

The {9-Hearts} fell on the turn and Derwich now bet 250,000 with 631,000 behind. Vogelsang again called.

The {8-Clubs} completed the board and Derwich checked his option. Vogelsang contemplated what to do for a bit, before reaching for about 900,000 in chips. He firmly pushed that big tower forward and the decision was on Derwich.

Derwich thought about it for a bit before eventually tossing in some 25,000 chips to indicate the call. "Full house" Vogelsang said before showing {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Derwich flashed the {9-Clubs} and got up from the table.
