Break

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The first break of the day just started, play will resume in 20 minutes.

Mateos Puts Kim in a Tough Spot

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Dong Kim has gotten quite short, and he raised to 18,000 from middle position. Adrian Mateos called from the small blind, after which Philippe D'Auteuil called from the big blind.

The flop brought out {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} and both blinds checked to Kim, who bet 31,000. Both his opponents called, and the turn was the {7-Spades}. All three players checked.

The river brought the {8-Spades}, and Mateos led out for 54,000, which made D'Auteuil fold quickly. Kim went into the tank for several minutes, before apologizing about taking so long.

Eventually, Kim folded and Mateos took down the pot.

O'Dwyer Delivers a Bad Beat to Andreev

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After a raise to 25,000 from Andrey Andreev and a call from Bryn Kenney, Steve O'Dwyer squeezed to 130,000. Action folded back to Andreev and he pushed all in for 480,000 total. Kenney folded, but O'Dwyer made the call with the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}. He was up against Andreev's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{J-Spades}, and Andreev forfeited his stack to O'Dwyer, who started the hand with 519,000.

O'Dwyer is now playing more than 1 million.

Kurganov Flushes Drinan

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Igor Kurganov has been slowly building a stack today, and he just won another decent-sized pot to move over 1.1 million.

With John Juanda missing in action (he thought there was a break, but that was just the Estrellas High Roller and not the EPT Super High Roller), the big blind was up for grabs. Kurganov tried to take it with a raise to 16,000 from the cutoff seat, but Connor Drinan three-bet on the button to 45,000. The small blind folded, and Kurganov made the call.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, and Kurganov check-called a bet of 40,000. Kurganov check-called another 80,000 on the {7-Hearts} turn, and the {j-Diamonds} hit the river. Kurganov checked, and Drinan checked behind.

"Flush," Kurganov said before showing the {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Drinan mucked.

Tsoukernik Doubles Through Stern

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

World Series of Poker November Niner Ofer Zvi Stern entered the tournament this morning after winning the "reverse freeroll" satellite last night, but he just took a big hit after doubling up Leon Tsoukernik.

After unknown action, it was Tsoukernik who ended up all in for 115,000 with the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Stern had the {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and Tsoukernik's hand held up.

Kanit Folds To Pressure from Trevallion

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Australian Alexander Trevallion had a bet of 64,000 in front of him on the {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board against Italian Mustafa Kanit. Kant thought for a little bit, then called to see the {K-Diamonds} appear on the river. Trevallion announced that he was all in for a bit over 300,000, and he had his opponent covered. Kant, with a stack of 287,000 behind, went deep into the tank. After a few very long minutes, Kanit opted to fold, and Trevallion picked up the pot to move to 600,000 in chips.

Chip Leaders Clash in Interesting Hand

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

As we arrived over on Table 6, there was already lots of action underway and three players involved.

Stephen Chidwick was in the hijack seat and had apparently opened with a raise. Christoph Vogelsang was in the cutoff seat and had three-bet. Leon Tsoukernik was in the small blind and cold-called. Then, Chidwick four-bet to 100,000. Vogelsang tanked for a bit before he made the call, and then Tsoukernik instantly called to leave himself with just 80,000 behind.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}, and Tsoukernik checked. Chidwick sat motionless, except for his middle finger that made a tapping motion to indicate he as well was checking. Vogelsang confirmed how much Tsoukernik had (exactly 80,000), and then bet 39,000. Tsoukernik folded his hand, and Chidwick made the call.

The {3-Diamonds} fell on the turn, and Chidwick, still not moving much at all, checked again. Vogelsang bet a modest 115,000, and Chidwick folded after just a little bit of thought.
