One Hand Missed

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Max Altergott, Igor Kurganov and Christoph Vogelsang were all just a little bit too late back from break, and missed the first hand. All three of them thought the clock was wrong, but the floor said it was correct. Paul Newey backed up the floor, as he said he had set hit timer and was back right in time.

No Comeback for Fares

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Hassan Fares came back from dinner with very little chips and he just moved all in for 47,000 from late position. Viacheslav Buldygin went into the tank for a while before three-betting to 72,000 and Max Altergott called from the big blind.

With 50,000 in the side pot the flop brought out {K-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{K-Hearts} and both players checked. On the turn the {A-Diamonds} hit and again the action was checked. The river completed the board with the {10-Clubs} and Altergott fired out 110,000.

Buldygin folded right away and Altergott showed {K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Fares shook his head and showed {J-Spades}{10-Hearts} as he exited the tournament.

Mustapha Kanit Eliminated

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Mustapha Kanit, winner of last season's EPT Grand Final single day €50,000 Super High Roller, has just been eliminated. We saw him getting his chips in on a board of {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Spades} holding {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. His neighbor Michael Egan was the one pushing the action and he tabled {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for the flush draw on top of his open ended straight draw. The river {4-Spades} meant Kanit had to say good bye, and he did just that.

The Derwiche Double

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Fedor Holz checked on a flop of {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} from the under the gun position. Imad Derwiche made a bet of 155,000 from the cutoff and Holz made the call.

The {9-Spades} hit the turn and Holz checked once more. Derwiche pushed all in for 471,000 and Holz called.

Holz showed {A-Spades}{Q-} but he was drawing dead as Derwiche tabled {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. The dealer already killed Holz' hand but did deal the {K-Spades} on the river to make things official.

Holz Takes from Kurganov

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

From the hijack seat, Igor Kurganov raised to 56,000. Fedora Holz reraised to 158,000 out of the cutoff position, and play folded back to Kurganov. He called, and the flop was {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. After Kurganov checked, Holz bet 147,000. Kurganov stuck around with a call to see the turn.

The {K-Hearts} landed on fourth street, and Kurganov checked. Holz fired 382,000, and Kurganov called. The river was the {6-Spades}, and both players checked.

Kurganov showed the {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}, but that was no good against the {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for Holz that picked up the best hand on the turn. Holz won the pot and moved to 3.3 million in chips. Kurganov dropped back to 1.85 million.
