Lodden Wins a Little Bit

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #86: Ole Schemion announced all in with {A-Clubs}{2-Spades} over a raise in front of him. Everyone folded, some much needed chips to Schemion.

Hand #87: El Asmar made it 110,000 holding {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} on the button. Johnny Lodden in the big blind found {8-Hearts}{7-Spades} and he defended. The flop came {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Lodden check-folded to El Asmar's small bet.

Hand #88: Fares made it 110,000 holding {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} in the hijack. Schemion found {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} on the button, but folded. Mateos in the big blind called with {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and the two saw a flop of {Q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, missing both and both checked.

The {9-Spades} hit the turn and both players paired up. Mateos bet 160,000 and Fares made the call. The {2-Clubs} completed the board and Mateos bet 350,000. Fares called with the better hand, and Mateos shook his head while mucking.

Hand #89: Ole Schemion limped in from the cutoff holding {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Mateos in the small blind found {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and announced all in. Both Garcia in the big blind and Schemion folded.

Hand #90: Action folded to Garcia and he moved all in from the small blind for 430,000 holding {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. Fares folded {2-Spades}{6-Clubs} from the big blind.

Hand #91: Lodden in the hijack found {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and he made it 105,000 from the hijack. Mateos called from the cutoff with the {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}. El Asmar in the big blind called with {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}. The flop came {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and all three of them checked. The turn paired the board with the {10-Diamonds}. El Asmar bet out 120,000 and Lodden called, Mateos folded. {8-Spades} on the river and El Asmar checked. Lodden bet 285,000 into 610,000. El Asmar folded.

Hand #92: El Asmar opened to 115,000 with {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} from the button, and Schemion three-bet with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} to 225,000. El Asmar called and both players saw a flop of {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Schemion bet 80,000 and that was enough to take down the pot.

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #84: Johnny Lodden got a walk in the big blind and showed {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Hand #85: Jose Carlos Garcia open-raised {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} from under the gun and El Asmar three-bet from the cutoff to 215,000 with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Garcia let it go.

Hand #86: Mateos opened {j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} from the small blind to 800,000, which was enough to make the short-stacked Garcia fold in the big blind.

Hand #87: Lodden raised to 100,000 in the cutoff with {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and got a call from Fares with {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} in the big blind. Fares check-called Lodden's continuation bet of 115,000 on a flop of {7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} Both players then saw the {6-Clubs} on the turn, which they both checked. The river card of the {5-Clubs} gave Fares a straight, and he bet out to 125,000. Lodden, holding only two-pair made the call and it was a case of yet more chips for Fares, as he moved over 7,000,000 chips.

Hand #85: Schemion bet 100,000 under the gun with {qcjc} and Lodden three-bet to 220,000 with {10-Spades}{7-Clubs} from the hijack. Schemion let it go and the German is down to 700,000.

The flop came {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}, giving Schemion top pair and Fares the flush draw. All three of them checked.

The {J-Clubs} hit the turn and El Asmar bet 115,000 with his gutshot. Schemion, now with two pair, raised it up to 390,000. Fares, with the gutshot and second nut flush draw, made the call. El Asmar got out of the way after some tanking.

With 1,255,000 in the middle, the {A-Spades} hit the river, giving Fares the nuts. Schemion had 2.3 million left at this point, and bet 420,000. Fares raied it up to 1,400,000 and Schemion called after some tanking. The pot went to Fares and Schemion continued as one of the shortest stacks in the tournament.

Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Even though Adrian Mateos is still only 20 years old, he is already #2 in Spain's all-time money list.

Mateos won the 2013 WSOP Europe Main Event for exactly €1,000,000 and also took down the Estrellas Madrid Main Event earlier that year. The Spaniard was also outstanding at EPT Deauville, winning a record two turbo events on the very last day of the festival for over €67k combined.

Mateos usually travels with his friend and house-mate Sergio Aido – their house in West London must be absolutely crammed with trophies by now. Aido is the UKIPT London champion, UKIPT Galway High Roller winner and also has a WPT title to his name.
