Checking Blind and Betting Blind

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

In an interesting hand, Rainer Kempe opened for 650 with blinds at 100/200, and got calls in the hijack and from Jonathan Khalifa in the big blind. The flop was {9-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Khalifa check-called a continuation bet from Kempe for 1,900, with the player in the hijack folding.

Before the turn card was dealt, Khalifa checked in the dark. After the {Q-Clubs} was dealt, Kempe checked behind. And before the river was dealt, Khalifa bet 3,000 blind. The river card was the {10-Clubs}. Kempe thought for a bit before raising to 16,500. Khalifa insta-called.

The German player showed {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a rivered full house, and Khalifa's reaction was instant. "I had Ace-Jack, I had Ace-Jack," he said as he got out of his chair. This big pot certainly moved Kempe up the chip counts as he moved over 70,000 in chips.
