Aces Up for Carrel Early on Day 2

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Charles Carrel on Day 1a
Charles Carrel on Day 1a

"He's playing like a maniac," was the remark from Charlie Carrel about his table-mate Luigi Mario Grisa. "His opponent bet three times and he called down with top pair!"

The Brit was in a hand against him after Josy Laurent Benhayoun opened for 2,100 under the gun. Both Carrel and Grisa called, along with the big blind and all four of them saw a flop of {5-Spades}{A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Benhayoun continued for 4,100, and Carrel and Grisa again called, with the big blind getting out of the way.

The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} ,and Benhayoun continued the aggression, this time betting 6,100. Again the two other players called and the {J-Spades} hit the river. This time, Benhayoun checked and Carrel pounced on the lapse in aggression from the Frenchman, betting 16,300 into a pot of nearly 40,000 chips. Grisa made the call, whilst Benhayoun finally folded.

Carrel tabled {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and it was met by a tap of the table from Grisa. Both players have healthy stacks early on Day 2.
