Stephen Chidwick Eliminated in 21st Place (€40,050)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Stephen Chidwick and Scott Clements got their chips in before the flop. Chidwick was ahead with the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} as Clements showed {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}.

The window card was the {Q-Hearts} though, followed by the {6-Diamonds} and {8-Clubs}. The {2-Hearts} on the turn brought Chidwick some new outs, but none of the 12 cards he needed fell on the river: {7-Diamonds}.

Chidwick takes home €40,050, the remaining 20 players are guaranteed €45,700 from now on.

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Markus Ross opened for 56,000 and got three-bet to 145,000 by Koichi Nozaki. Action folded back to Ross and the German shoved all in for 490,000. Nozaki tanked for a fair bit, and called.

Markus Ross: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Koichi Nozaki: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Ross doubled.

Chip Counts on the Break (full)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Frank Gets there on the River

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Christopher Frank
Christopher Frank

Players have been slowing down aware of a pay jump between 22 and 21 players, but Christopher Frank was all-in and at risk of busting with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} against Romain Paon's {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

The flop was {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} which was no use to Frank. The turn was the {a-Diamonds} and Frank stood up and put his tablet into his bag.

The river card was the {8-Diamonds} and Frank froze looking at the board. He slowly sat back down and counted out the double-up for the dealer.

Hady El Asmar Up Over 1 Million

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Hady El Asmar
Hady El Asmar

Joao Simao opened from the hijack and raised to 35,000. Hady El Asmar three-bet to 85,000 and Simao called.

Both players checked a flop of {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and saw the {6-Diamonds} on the turn. El Asmar called a bet of around 100,000 on the turn and then saw the {k-Hearts} on the river.

After a short pause Simao shoved for his remaining chips. El Asmar called and Simao showed {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, but the Lebanese player slammed {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} down triumphantly for the rivered flush.

This hand catapulted El Asmar to over 1,000,000 chips whilst Simao was left with under 300,000.
