Luca Over Bets

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ivan Luca opened before the flop and Samuli Sipila made the call. Luca fired 23,000 on the {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{Q-Hearts} flop and 54,000 on the {4-Spades} turn from middle position. Sipila in the hijack called both streets.

The {J-Diamonds} fell on the river and Luca tanked for a fair bit. Eventually someone called the clock, but even before the dealer could shout for time, Luca had moved in for about 290,000.

Sipila had Luca covered, and needed some time to make up his mind. Eventually the Fin folded, and Luca raked in the sizable pot.

Wydrowski Wakes Up With Kings

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Jens Lakemeier opened for 15,000 only to be met by an all-in three-bet to 59,000 from Marcin Wydrowski in the small blind. Lakemeier didn't seem too excited, but made the call nonetheless.

Wydrowski: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Lakemeier: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Wydrowski was looking to dodge an ace or some other funky business, and that's just what he did after the board ran out {6-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades}. Ship the double to Wydrowski.

Metaal Follows IPT Runner-Up Finish With Deep EPT12 Malta Main Event Run

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Govert Metaal
Govert Metaal

Earlier this week, Natan Chauskin finished as the last man standing in the €1,100 IPT7 Malta2 Main Event, a tournament attracted 947 participants from 57 countries and created a prize pool of €918,590. Chauskin captured the €149,560 first-place prize after a heads-up deal with EPT regular Govert Metaal, who had actually began the final table as the short stack.

Metaal, who took home €124,000 as a part of the deal, was in action today and followed up his runner-up finish with a cash in the Main Event. Unfortunately, his run just came to an end after he three-bet jammed {7-}{7-} over the open of Sam Greenwood, who called with {j-}{j-}. There was no seven from heaven, and Metaal's deep run came to an end.

Farrell Busts Haxton

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

PokerStars Team Online member Isaac Haxton moved all in for 75,000 from under the gun and Niall Farrell called from two seats over.

Haxton: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Farrell: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The enormous run good of the Scotsman continued with the flop {9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, giving Farrell top set. The {J-Diamonds} turn opened some outs for Haxton with any queen for the straight, but the {3-Hearts} river was a blank and even gave Farrell a full house.

The Five-Bet Shove

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Alen Bilic made it 12,000 under the gun and Dan Smith three-bet, dropping in 33,000 from the cutoff with 270,000 behind.

Faraz Jaka sat on the button contemplating for a few seconds before making it four-bets, sliding in 73,000 of his 473,000.

Facing two players with combined career tournament earnings of close to $15 Million in this pot, Bilic, who can lay claim to a little under $100,000, did the only sensible thing: He five-bet shoved his last 250,000.

Both legends laid down.

Dvoress Can Finally Eat

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Down to his last 44,000 chips, Nihat Karyagdi moved all in and Daniel Dvoress called in the big blind after just having arrived to the table. Karyagdi held the {Q-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and Dvoress the superior {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, the board ran out {10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and that was it for the Romanian. "Now I can finally eat," Dvoress said.

Kempe Bad Beats Aldemir

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Rainer Kempe opened to 15,000 and Koray Aldemir three-bet to 36,000 from the cutoff. Kempe then moved all in with the superior stack and Aldemir quickly called for what looked like 160,000.

Kempe: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Aldemir: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The {4-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{K-Hearts} flop was not really any reason to worry yet, the {5-Hearts} turn then gave Kempe a flush draw. Sure enough the very cruel {Q-Hearts} river, giving Kempe a flush and Aldemir a worthless set of queens, completed the board.

Antoine Saout Eliminated

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Antoine Saout moved in from the cutoff for his last 11 big blinds, and his neighbor Ludovic Riehl looked him up. Both blinds folded and Saout showed {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. He had a fighting chance against Riehl's {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, but he would be outflopped: {4-Spades}{6-Spades}{A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. The former November Niner was eliminated in 71st place, the first to receive €10,580 instead of €9,320.

Dvoress Busts Hunichen; Has to Postpone Eating

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

Daniel Dvoress just came fresh off the break with a sandwich in his hand and was about to eat when the first cards were dealt. He raised to 12,000 and Chris "Big Huni" Hunichen moved all in for exactly 20 big blinds or 120,000 chips. "I am pretty sure I am calling, but can I please have a count?" the Canadian asked and then called.

Dvoress: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Hunichen: {A-Spades}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and the pair of eights held up. Right after the hand, the table broke and Dvoress let out a "really?" because he was about to bite into his sandwich ... . Hunichen confirmed to be back for the €10,000 High Roller tomorrow, which PokerNews is also reporting on until a winner is crowned.
