Wigg Doubles a Short Stack

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Antonin Duda just moved all in under the gun for 35,600 and the action folded quickly to Anton Wigg in the big blind. The former EPT Copenhagen winner from Sweden looked down at his cards, gave it a few seconds, and slammed the chips needed for the call into the pot.

Duda: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Wigg: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Duda doubled up, while Wigg dropped down to about 170,000.

An Ace from Space for the Russian

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Jens Lakemeier opened for 7,500 only to have Javier Gomez, who is fresh off a victory in the World Poker Tour Prague, three-bet to 18,000 from the cutoff. Simon Persson then four-bet to 44,000 from the button and Russia's Mikhail Rudoy called off for 11,300 from the big blind.

Lakemeier thought for a few moments before moving all in for nearly 300,000, and Persson, who started the day on a big stack but has been stuck in reverse, released his hand.

Lakemeier: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Rudoy: {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}

Rudoy's best chance at staying alive was to catch an ace, but he didn't do it on the {6-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop nor the {9-Clubs} turn. Rudoy had one last pull at it, and amazingly he hit it when the {A-Diamonds} spiked on the river to keep his EPT12 Prague Main Event hopes alive!

One Italian Down

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Pietro Alerci opened for 6,500 under the gun and received a call from Frank Williams in the cutoff. Italy's Marco Leonzio came along from the big blind and three players saw a flop of {2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Leonzio checked, Alerci continued for 12,100, and Williams called.

Leonzio then woke up with an all-in check-raise to roughly 55,000, and Alerci moved all in over the top for 200,000 or so. Williams tanked for a bit before folding what he claimed was ace-king, which proved a wise decision.

Alerci: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Leonzio: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Leonzio had flopped top pair, but he was drawing thin as Alerci flopped a set. The {7-Clubs} turn left Leonzio drawing dead, and he was officially eliminated from the tournament after the {K-Diamonds} was put out on the river.

Mike McDonald
Mike McDonald

Action folded to Mike "Timex" McDonald on the button and he shoved all in, which swiped the blinds and antes.

McDonald: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Petersen: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

Petersen was pipped, and he sent over a good portion of his stack after the board ran out a clean {2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Dobson Takes on Wigg

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Ben Dobson and Anton Wigg have probably clashed in online circles hundreds of times during their careers, but now they're locking horns at the felt here in Prague.

Ben Dobson limped in from the small blind and called when Wigg raised to 8,500. Both players checked on the {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop, and Dobson led for 9,000 on the {9-Spades} turn. Wigg called. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Dobson bet another 25,000. Wigg folded and DObson added to his stack.

Eights Prove Great for Bartalos

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Matthias Rohrer opened for 6,500 from the hijack and was met by an all-in three-bet for 39,000 from Jozef Bartalos in the small blind. Rohrer thought for a solid minute before making the call, and the cards were turned on their backs.

Rohrer: {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Bartalos: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Bartalos was well out in front, but he couldn't bear to watch as he stood and walked away from the table. Meanwhile, the dealer put out the flop — {3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} — which gave Rohrer a wheel draw. The {Q-Clubs} turn was of no consequence, and neither was the {9-Clubs} river.

Ship the double to Bartalos.

O'Rourke Rakes in a Massive Double Up

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Gavin O'Rourke
Gavin O'Rourke

Gavin O'Rourke started the day with well above the 143,000-chip average, but he just doubled through Mustafa Biz to become one of the chip leaders of the tournament.

O'Rourke raised from middle position to 7,000 and from his direct left it was Biz who three-bet to 18,000. The action folded back around to O'Rourke, and he four-bet to 47,000 and Biz called.

The flop brought out {8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and O'Rourke lead out for 40,000, after which Biz moved all in right away.

O'Rourke, who looked a bit stunned with Biz's big shove, leaned back in his chair and almost reluctantly tossed forward some chips to make the call.

A massive pot worth 536,000 chips was upon us, and O'Rourke tabled {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} against Biz's {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

On the turn the {Q-Spades} hit and the river was the {J-Diamonds}, giving O'Rourke a big double up, leaving Biz with a little less than average.
