Italian poker's all-time leading money winner, Mustapha Kanit, took down the PokerStars European Poker Tour Dublin €25,750 High Roller at the Royal Dublin Society on Sunday night, collecting the event's top prize of €501,640.

The biggest buy-in event ever held on Irish soil drew 70 entries to Dublin and played down to a final table Saturday night. The eight-handed final started quickly on Sunday, with Keith Johnson doubling through Ivan luca on the first hand, then Luca busting eighth to Chance Kornuth on the second.

Short stack Nick Petrangelo then got it in good against Jeff Rossiter, but could not hold, busting seventh. Soon after, Anton Bertilsson shoved sixes and Johnson called off his remaining chips with a weak ace, missing and taking sixth.

Kanit had started the day with a big lead that only got bigger when he busted Rossiter in fifth in dominating fashion. Kanit then pulled off a huge bluff against Bertilsson, getting him to fold queens on an ace-high board with a big river bet.

Bertilsson busted fourth, calling it off with king-high against Kornuth's ace-high and failing to improve.

With three players remaining, it looked like it was all over when Kanit raised with two kings and saw Charlie Carrel shove fives and Kornuth re-shove ace-high. However, Carrel made a set and Kornuth a wheel to crack Kanit's kings and allow them both to stave off elimination.

Carrel then ran a weak ace into Kanit's jacks to bow out in third and send Kanit into heads-up with Kornuth.

Kanit had the lead, but Kornuth quickly turned things around, cracking Kanit's kings again to take a 2-1 lead heads up. But it wasn't long before Kanit moved ahead again for good.

With his lead growing, Kanit shoved pocket threes, and Kornuth, who has now made three high roller final tables on three different continents to start 2016, called it off with a big ace and missed, allowing Kanit to book his third EPT high roller win with a dominating final table performance.

Chance Kornuth Eliminated in 2nd Place (€360,150)

Level 24 : 100,000/200,000, 25,000 ante
Chance Kornuth

Hand #143: On the button, Chance Kornuth raised to 500,000 without having his cards shown at first. Mustapha Kanit had only the {3-Spades} showing and he moved all in.

"You have like deuce deuce right?" Kornuth asked while taking a sip from his beverage.

"Deuces never loses!" Kanit replied with a big smile.

"I apologize for the nit roll" Kornuth continued.

He eventually said call, and it was time for the two of them to put their cards on their backs.

Mustapha Kanit: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Chance Kornuth: {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

"It was really nice to play with you" said Kanit with a very confident voice, still smiling.

The flop came {2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Kornuth said "If I lose, I'm happy it's to you. But I would prefer to play a bit longer."

While the two debated what the turn would be, the dealer just put it out there: {Q-Spades}.

Kornuth was down to his last few outs, and missed the cards he needed with the {J-Diamonds} on the river.

Chance Kornuth made his exit in 2nd place, taking home €360,150, his third high roller with a buy in of 25,000 in 2016.

Charlie Carrel Eliminated in 3rd Place (€234,100)

Level 23 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #121: On the button, Mustapha Kanit raised to 325,000 with {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. In the big blind, Chance Kornuth found {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} and three-bet to 1,050,000. Kanit folded.

Hand #122: Mustapha Kanit received a walk with the {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

Hand #123: In the small blind, Mustapha Kanit found {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and limped in. Charlie Carrel shoved all in with {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Kanit instantly called.

"I think the technical term is 'I got got!'" Carrel said with a somewhat pained but still smiling face.

The flop came {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Carrell was really looking for an ace, runner runner deuce trey, or running fives or fours now.

The {7-Clubs} on the turn did nothing for Carrel, and neither did the {4-Spades} on the river.

Charlie Carrel hit the rail in 3rd place, netting himself €234,100. The two remaining players are now guaranteed €360,150, and are going to battle it out for that first place prize of €501,640 after the break.

Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Hand #118: On the button, Kanit raised to 325,000 holding {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. Charlie Carrel shoved for 2,750,000 from the small blind with {5-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Chance Kornuth in the big blind holding {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades} asked for a count.

Kornuth tanked for a bit before shoving all in. Mustapha Kanit instantly called and the three-way all in was there.

{Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} on the flop and Kanit was in good position to end it all right there. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn was extremely good for Carrel though, jumping in front. Chance Kornuth was now in real trouble, but he was saved by the {2-Clubs} on the river!

This three way all in resulted in Kornuth tripling up, Carrel getting extremely short, and Kanit losing a good portion of his stack.

Hand #61: Bertilsson with the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} received a walk in the big blind.

Hand #62: In the small blind, Anton Bertilsson completed holding {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Mustapha Kanit with the {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} bumped it up to 275,000 and Bertilsson folded.

Hand #63: On the button, Anton Bertilsson found {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and raised to 200,000. In the small blind, Mustapha Kanit held {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and three-bet to 530,000. Charlie Carrel folded his big blind.

Bertilsson four-bet to 1,180,000 and Kanit didn't seem ready yet to part ways with his cards and called.

With now 2.5 million in the pot, and effectively 3.06 million behind, the flop came {8-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Kanit checked and Bertilsson bet 700,000, leaving himself 2.36 million behind. Kanit made the call.

The {7-Hearts} on the turn saw Kanit tap the table for the second time. Bertilsson, with 2.36 million behind and 3.9 million in the pot, checked behind.

The {J-Spades} on the river saw Kanit bet 1,750,000. Bertilsson took of his glasses and it showed he wasn't the happiest of campers in the world. The Swede tanked for a fair bit before he folded.

"Show one!" Bertilsson asked. Carrel was allowed by Kanit to pick one of the cards, and revealed the {Q-Diamonds}.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Rossiter took the lead.

"No man, I didn't feel it" Kanit now answered.

The {6-Diamonds} on the turn was a blank and Petrangelo really needed help now. He got none of it with the {6-Hearts} and Nick Petrangelo made his exit in 7th place, netting him €84,040. The remaining 6 players are guaranteed €106,330.
