Timex Gets One with Aces

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Picking up the action on the {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop, Alexandre Rivero check-called a bet of 15,000 by Mike McDonald and the duo then checked through the {Q-Clubs} turn. Rivero took an attempt to take down the pot by betting the {9-Diamonds} river for 32,000. McDonald called with {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} and Rivero only had pocket eights.

Wigg Doubles Lybaert

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Bart Lybaert had 150,000 or so in front of him, while not too long ago we had spotted him with a mere 40,000 or so. Lybaert told us he had reshipped for his last 40,000 on Anton Wigg. Wigg had called with pocket kings, but Lybaert made a flush with his {A-Spades}{J-}.

Lybaert doubled to over 80,000 in that hand, and won several non showdown pots afterwards to get to the above average stack.

Jake Cody
Jake Cody

Raiden Kan opened to 5,000 from under the gun and Jake Cody then moved all in for approximately 34,000 chips in late position. Kan didn't like the call but he tossed in the chips to do so.

Kan: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Cody: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The flop {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} saw Kan improve to a set and he held up with {7-Hearts} turn and {8-Hearts} river as final two community cards.

Oliveira Cracks Adam's Aces

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Francisco Oliveira opened from the hijack to 5,200 and was three-bet by Alfie Adam from the button. Tudor Purice, in the small blind, saw this and four-bet to 31,400. Action folded back to Olivieira who tanked before announcing he was all-in. Adam called swiftly and all that was left for Purice was to muck {a-}{q-} face up.

Adam turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} and was crushingly ahead of Francisco's {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{q-Spades} board gave Oliveira some more outs, and the {j-Hearts} on the turn was one of them, leaving Adam needing one of the last ace in the deck to remain alive. But it was the {8-Hearts} and Oliveira eliminated another player, and moved up over 300,000

Calamusa Cut Down

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Joining the action on the flop {Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Alex Goulder checked and Dominik Panka bet 7,500. Pierre Calamusa called from one seat over and Goulder folded. The {2-Diamonds} on the turn saw a check-raise of Panka from 10,000 to 27,500 and the Frenchman called. The {4-Clubs} river saw Panka inquire "can I ask how much you have" and then push all in when he received the answer, Calamusa snap-folded.

O'Dwyer Doubles Chen

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Not too long ago, we witnessed Steve O'Dwyer taking down a rather large non showdown pot. On the river, he had made a bet of 46,000 on a board of {8-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{J-Spades}{6-Diamonds} with just 10,000 or so behind. His opponent, Joao Baumgarten, had tanked for quite a bit before folding with just 4 seconds left to act.

That catapulted O'Dwyer to an above average stack, but he parted ways with a rather large portion of that just now as he doubled up Andrew Chen. We didn't see the entire action, but we did see the eventual showdown where O'Dwyer had {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} against Chen's {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs} on a board of {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{6-Spades}. O'Dwyer had to cut out 26,700 to give to Chen, but still has plenty left.

Palma's Day Ends Early

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Nicholas Palma had PokerStars Team Pro Liv Boeree all in and at risk with almost even stacks. The winner would make a comeback towards the average stack and Boeree had the slightly better kicker.

Boeree: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Palma: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

On the flop {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Palma picked up a flush draw but both the {A-Clubs} turn and {2-Diamonds} river blanked to leave Palma with 8,500 chips. Those vanished shortly after and the American headed to the rail without anything to show for.
