Greenwood's Bluff Fails

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

In the very last hand before the break, Sam Greenwood and Paul Newey were involved in a battle of the blinds with more than 80,000 chips in the pot. The board was reading {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Newey checked, Greenwood fired a bet worth 108,000 and was called to reveal {10-Spades}{4-Spades} for a bluff. Newey had the {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for trips jacks and scooped the big pot.

Sammartino Busts Shak

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

We missed the action and only got there for the showdown, but Italian high roller Dario Sammartino told us afterwards what had happened.

Action had folded to Shak in the small blind and he had limped in. Sammartino then raised it up from the big blind, and called the shove from Shak that followed.

Shak was in bad shape holding {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} as his neighbor had the {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}. The board ran out {J-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, making Shak two pair but Sammartino top set. Down and out for Shak, but he still has the option to reenter.

The Health Nut

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Daniel Negreanu seems hell bent on making people healthy.

It started with the dealer, who Negreanu spent the last minute of the break convincing to quit smoking. It moved on to Dan Shack, who the devout Vegan told about the good fat in nuts as he chomped away at his own spinach salad. Then it moved on to Timothy Adams, who's stack had fallen into the danger zone before Negreanu helped him get healthy again.

The hand started with an under the gun raise from Negreanu to 5,500 and fellow Canadians Mike McDonald and Adams both calling in the blinds. McDonald and Adams checked the {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, but only Adams called when Negreanu continued for 9,000.

The {8-Diamonds} turn saw another check from Adams, but he did not go away when Negreanu made it 15,000. Finally, on the {q-Clubs} river, Adams check-called Negreanu's 22,000-chip bet.

Negreanu: {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Adams: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Negreanu rivered a bigger two pair than he'd flopped, but Adams had turned the flush and is almost back to starting stack now with Negreanu falling well below that mark.

Greenwood Doubles Through Reinkemeier; Takes More

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

From the hijack, Sam Greenwood raised to 5,500 and Tobias Reinkemeier three-bet to 13,700 out of the big blind. Greenwood called and Reinkemeier asked for the stack behind, which was around 25,000. The flop came {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Reinkemeier continued for 7,000 before snap-calling the shove of Greenwood.

Greenwood: {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Reinkemeier: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

While the {J-Clubs} turn was a blank, the {10-Hearts} river gave Greenwood a double up in style with a straight flush.

Less than one orbit later, the duo clashed again and created a pot worth 60,000 to the {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Greenwood shoved for 59,900 and Reinkemeier let go.

Vogelsang and Antonius Shove for the Win

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Christoph Vogelsang and table neighbor Ali Reza Fatehi clashed in a pot worth 140,000 and the former then shoved the {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts} river for pretty much the same amount. Fatehi let go to conserve his big stack.

One table over, Patrik Antonius bet the {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{K-Hearts} river for 12,000 and Nick Petrangelo raised to 28,000 before folding to the shove of the Finn.

Peters Rivers Carrel

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Joining the action on the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{K-Spades} turn, David Peters bet 22,500 from the cutoff and table neighbor Charlie Carrel just flat-called to see the {K-Clubs} appear on the river. Peters checked quickly, Carrel however took his time before making a bet of what looked like 25,000. Peters now snap-called and Carrel flashed {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a flopped full house, Peters the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the higher full house.

Bombs Away!

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Ali Reza Fatehi
Ali Reza Fatehi

Ali Reza Fatehi continues to throw bombs across his table and one just exploded on Bryn Kenney.

Fatehi fired 63,000 at a {4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} board with some 70,000 in the middle already and Kenney made the call.

They both checked the {3-Clubs} river and Fatehi's {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} was good over Kenney's {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
