Schemion Wins Pot; Seidel Shoves

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Mustapha Kanit raised to 42,000 from the cutoff and then folded when Erik Seidel shoved for 220,000 out of the big blind. Kanit won the chips back shortly after when betting 50,000 on the {J-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop against Paul Newey, flashing deuces after the fold of the Brit.

Ole Schemion then defended his big blind for 45,000 against fellow German Christoph Vogelsang and led the {7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop. Vogelsang called, then gave up the hand on the {5-Hearts} turn when Schemion made it 90,000 to go.

Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Bryn Kenney lost heaps to Ali Reza Fatehi getting pushed off a pot and the rest went in soon after.

Sam Greenwood opened to 45,000 and Kenney pushed in for 300,000.

Christoph Vogelsang pushed in behind having Kenney barely covered, and after Greenwood folded, the hands were revealed.

Kenney: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Vogelsang: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Vogelsang spiked an ace and held through the {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} board to rail Kenney and double up.

Kanit and Luca At It Again

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

From first position, Mustapha Kanit raised to 43,000. Ivan Luca in the hijack made the call, and big blind Igor Kurganov came along for the ride as well. The flop came {K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Kurganov checked. Kanit fired 57,000 into the middle and just Luca called, Kurganov folded. Kanit checked the {4-Spades} turn, but called Luca's 137,000 bet.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board and Kanit checked again. Luca bet a hefty 590,000 and it took Kanit several minutes before making up his mind and folding.

The next hand, the two were at it again. Action folded to Kanit on the button and he made it 43,000. Luca called from the small blind and check called a bet of 45,000 on {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. The {J-Spades} on the turn was checked through and the {A-Diamonds} hit the river. Luca lead out for 125,000, and was soon met by a raise to 360,000 from Kanit. Luca thought about it for a bit before laying it down.

Cruel Exit for Behbehani

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Salman Behbehani
Salman Behbehani

Salman Behbehani had patiently waited for his chance, barely played any hand, and then open-shoved from middle position. One seat over, Ali Reza Fatehi asked "how much?" and the dealer counted out 289,000. The Iranian called and everyone else got out of the way.

Behbehani: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Fatehi: {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop was no threat yet for Behbehani, but the {Q-Diamonds} turn was as scary as it could get. Ultimately, it was the {5-Diamonds} river that completed the bad beat story and Behbehani left the tournament area. After some initial joy, Fatehi apologized for the beat and jumped into the lead.

Kanit Pays Off Luca

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Mustapha Kanit raised to 43,000 from the cutoff and Ivan Luca made it 78,000 to go from the small blind to see the Italian come along. On the {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop, Luca continued for 95,000 and was looked up by the chip leader to fire another 195,000 on the {A-Diamonds} turn. Again, Kanit called and then faced the shove of Luca for 325,000 total.

Kanit gave it some thought and eventually called, putting his opponent on a bluff after their most recent confrontation. However, this time Luca had it with {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} for top set and Kanit's attempt to muck his {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} was revealed by the dealer as per rule for all in showdowns.

Lebedev Loses Flip to Timex

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Sergey Lebedev
Sergey Lebedev

Mike McDonald raised to 45,000 from the button and the action folded to Sergey Lebedev in the big blind. He squeezed to 145,000 and Timex asked "can I see your stack" before pushing all in. Lebedev had around 430,000 chips and called to enter a coin flip for his tournament life.

Lebedev: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
McDonald: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The flop {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} was as blank as it could be, but the {A-Spades} turn improved Timex to aces and fives. A blank {10-Diamonds} river sent the Russian to the rail and he just gasped out a "Mike, Mike" with a dry smile on the face.
