Hands #30-32: Sammartino Getting Short

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Hand #30: From the hijack, Dario Sammartino raised it up to 160,000 with {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Right next to him Jimmy Guerrero found a real hand with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and just called.

The flop came {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Sammartino bet 120,000. Guerrero called rather quickly.

The {2-Spades} fell on the turn and Sammartino and Guerrero both checked so the pot remained 760,000. The {6-Clubs} fell on the river and Sammartino bet 245,000. Guerrero let out a big smile before getting back to his more serious look. He eventually called and raked in the sizable pot with ace-high.

Hand #31: Jimmy Guerrero raised to 175,000 with {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} from the hijack. Big blind Oren Rosen called with {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. The flop came {J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} and Rosen check folded to Guerrero's 250,000 bet with his second pair.

Hand #32: Dario Sammartino made it 160,000 with {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} from early position. Pierre Calamusa in the hijack three-bet to 480,000 with {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Action came back to Sammartino and the Italian High Roller made the call.

{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds} on the flop and Sammartino checked. Calamusa made a bet of 375,000 and Sammartino called.

With the pot now 1,910,000, Sammartino checked again. Calamusa asked for a count, and bet 765,000. Sammartino wasn't willing to throw his cards away just yet and called, growing the pot to 3,440,000.

The {9-Diamonds} completed the board and Sammartino checked with 1,370,000 behind. Calamusa checked behind instantly and could start stacking soon enough.
