Shorties Keep Shoving

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Although there's a €46,180 bubble looming, none of the short stacks appear to be scared money. In the past orbit, Ramin Hajiyev (2x), Patrick Leonard and Allan Sannier all put their stacks in the middle at one point. Each time, the loot consisted of just blinds and antes.

Leonard With Some "Speech Play"

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Mikita Badizakouski in the small blind and he shoved all in. Big blind Patrick Leonard had a stack of 158,000 and a big decision.

"I have a big one," Leonard said, "A big one!"

Leonard waited for the hand on the other table to finish before he again started talking.

"I wished you had opened. I think I dominate you a lot" he started. "Can you tell me your range?" he asked Badziakouski.

"I would say something like nines and ace-queen" Badziakouski answered with a smile, something not many seemed to believe.

"How would you play king-five?" Leonard asked.

"I would say both options are fine, raising and shoving" Leonard answered.

Ole Schemion called the clock but since the tournament clock has been paused as long as the bubble continues, that was of no real use.

Leonard offered Badziakouski to swap 2% of his to 6% of him. Badziakouske declined, saying that wasn't fair to the other players. Schemion, with a smile and just as friendly, raised an eyebrow and looked at the floor while saying he didn't think that should be allowed.

Leonard eventually folded, claiming to have had {K-}{Q-}. Badziakouski showed the {K-Diamonds} as he raked in the small pot.

No Blinds Increase

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

As long as the bubble plays on, the blinds won't increase. The tournament clock is paused, the next level will only begin after one more player gets eliminated.

Oleksii Khoroshenin limped in from the small blind. Allan Sannier raised to 19,000 in the big blind and Khoroshenin peeled a flop.

The flop was {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Khoroshenin checked. Sannier bet 16,000, Khoroshenin put in a big check-raise to 57,000, Sannier shoved for 180,000 and Khoroshenin instantly called to put Sannier at risk.

Allan Sannier: {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Oleksii Khoroshenin: {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Sannier had flopped two pair, but found himself in dire straits as Khoroshenin had flopped a bigger two pair. Sannier needed an eight or running chop cards to survive. It wasn't meant to be for the qualifier, as the {4-Hearts} on the turn and {9-Spades} on the river sealed his fate.

Sannier got into the Super High Roller by finishing second in last night's satellite for this tournament. Although, not exactly, as the tournament only had one seat for the winner. Sannier got paid €22,750 in cash for finishing second, almost worth a seat, but still a cash prize. Instead of cashing out, Sannier elected to pony up the rest of the money and buy himself into the tournament. Unfortunately, his exciting run ended on the bubble, leaving him empty handed for the journey.

The nine remaining finalists are guaranteed at least €46,180 each.

Ramin Hajiyev raised for the second hand in a row, this time making it 22,000 from first position. Action folded to Adrian Mateos in middle position and he moved in for 164,000. His neighbor Mikita Badziakouski asked for a count but folded. It folded back to Hajiyev and he instantly called.

Ramin Hajiyev: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Adrian Mateos: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

"I folded an ace" Badziakouski said.

"Some information is being shared here guys" Yan replied with a smile.

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Mateos said his goodbyes, banking €46,180.

The tournament is down to 8 players now, all of them are guaranteed €60,500.

Oleksii Khoroshenin opened with a raise to 23,000 from middle position. Ole Schemion called from the cutoff, which brought the action to Patrick Leonard on the button. The Brit tanked for two minutes, before committing his remaining stack of 89,000.

Khoroshenin wasted no time in putting in a call, which gave Schemion some pause. The German juggernaut seized up his Ukranian opponent, eventually settling on a call as well.

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, with both active players checking it down.

Oleksii Khoroshenin: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Ole Schemion: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}
Patrick Leonard: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Neither player had improved their holding, which gave Khoroshenin the winner with ace-jack high. Leonard received €60,500 for his eight place finish.

Yan Wins a Big One

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

From the hijack, Mikita Badziakouski raised to 20,000. Big blind [Removed:17] called and check-called 18,000 on {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} as well. Yan check-called another 60,000 on the {7-Spades} turn and the {J-Spades} completed the board. Yan checked, and instantly called the 150,000 bet Badziakouski had so carefully cut out. Badziakouski showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}, Yan took it down with {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

Davidi Kitai Eliminated in 7th Place (€78,050)

Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

Action folded around to [Removed:17] in the small blind, who limped in. Davidi Kitai shoved all in from the big blind and Yan snap-called.

[Removed:17]: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Davidi Kitai: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

It was an unavoidable setup for Kitai, and the {K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades} board didn't provide the miracle escape. Kitai takes home €78,050 for his seventh place finish.

With Kitai's bustout, Day 2 draws to a close. Chip counts of the six remaining finalists are to follow.
