Thanh Tung Hoang Wins Big Pot With Two Pair

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Michael Howard grew his stack from the start of the day and raised from mid position and got a call from local Czech player Thanh Tung Hoang from the big blind.

Hoang checked the {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Spades} flop and Howard bet 4,400. Hoang called and then led out with a bet of 6,500 when the {8-Hearts} appeared on the turn, which Howard called. Hoang led out for a much larger bet of 45,000 when the {k-} appeared on the river. Howard called, but Hoang asked if he was all-in after seeing a pile of blue 5,000-denominated chips being bet. The dealer assured Hoang that this was just a call and Hoang turned over {8-}{6-} for the full house, while Howard tossed his hand in the muck.

Over on the same table is the EPT Prague Super High Roller Charlie Carrel, who is very low on chips with less than six big blinds remaining.

More for Chouity

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Nicolas Chouity continues to roll over the field and show big hands. In one recent pot, he and Erik Tamm were in late position and build a pot of over 35,000 on the turn. Chouity checked to Tamm and then called 17,300. Both checked the river on the final board of {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, and Chouity showed {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for two pair to take the pot.

Meanwhile, Dominik Nitsche was walking around the tournament area and told a friend it was "showers."

Calamusa Cracks Kings, Reads Nassif Like a Book

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Gaby Livshitz raised to 2,400 and Pierre Calamusa defended the big blind to see a flop of {J-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Calamusa checked, Livshitz bet 3,000 and the Frenchman then check-raised to 8,000. Livshitz moved all in for 30,000 and received a quick call by Calamusa.

Gaby Livshitz: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Pierre Calamusa: {6-Spades}{2-Spades}

The {5-Hearts} turn and {10-Clubs} river were blanks and Livshitz was eliminated.

Soon after, Calamusa raised to 2,400 from the button and Gabriel Nassif moved all in from the big blind for around 28,000. Calamusa folded the {A-Diamonds} face up and said to Nassif "you have ace queen." Nassif flashed the {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} ... then replied "next time you have to call out the suits or I am not showing."

Charlie Carrel Eliminated

Charlie Carrel (From Super High Roller Final Table)
Charlie Carrel (From Super High Roller Final Table)

As we just reported, Charlie Carrel's stack was down to four-digits. He now is free to join the impromptu $25,500 EPT Single-Day High Roller II that wasn't originally on the schedule and just added today after Steve O'Dwyer pitched the idea yesterday.

Carrel shoved for about 7,000 with ace-four suited and was called by ace-eight suited. His hand wasn't able to improve enough for the win or the chop, and he is one of the latest batch of casualties on Day 2.

Niko Koop
Niko Koop

Aleksejs Meless opened the action with a raise to 2,600 and Niko Koop three-bet to 8,600 in small blind. Meless then four-bet to 20,000 and Koop took a few seconds before moving all in. Meless quickly called and Koop sighed: "Damn, I was bluffing," he added and sheepishly turned over his cards.

Aleksejs Meless: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Niko Koop: {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The board came {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Koop flopped two pair to crack the queens of Meless. The stacks were counted and Koop had around 96,000, his opponent was covered by around 4,000. "You are not bluffing anymore," a dry Martin Kabrhel said, glancing up from his iPad.

Clock Called on Drinan

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Connor Drinan was in the big blind and check-called a pot-sized bet of 6,000 from Kent Roed in the cutoff. Drinan checked the river with {6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{a-Spades}{8-Diamonds} on the felt and his opponent bet 8,000 this time. It was only a handful of big blinds but still a significant portion of Drinan's stack. While he thought it over, Roed called clock. After the 30-second mark, Drinan mucked.
