Roed Eliminates Pollak; Kobayashi Done as Well

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Benjamin Pollak
Benjamin Pollak

Benjamin Pollak shoved all in for 330,000 or so in middle position, and Kent Roed slid in 500,000 from the small blind to put him at risk.

Pollak: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Roed: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Unfortunately for Pollak, the board ran out {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and he was busted.

At the neighboring table, Hirokazu Kobayashi also went bust.

Aleksandr Nemtcov Gets a Walk

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Aleksandr Nemtcov shoves for 310,000 on the feature table. Despite some discussion between players jockeying for space on the feature table, all the players fold to allow Nemtcov to increase his stack by about 20 percent without seeing a flop.

Kurtosi Bluffs Some Off

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

On the river, with the board reading {3-}{7-}{7-}{k-}{9-}, Janos Kurtosi bet what looked like 205,000 when checked to by Jukka Paloniemi. Paloniemi called instantly and Kurtosi tabled {a-}{q-} for an airball. Paloniemi had {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for trips.

Paloniemi Busts Lamarca, Pesta

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Pedro Lamarca
Pedro Lamarca

Pedro Lamarca opened under the gun to 50,000 and got two callers before big blind Viteszlav Pesta jammed for 126,000. Lamarca reshipped after some thought for about 500,000, and Jukka Paloniemi announced a call from middle position. The last player folded.

Lamarca: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Paloniemi: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Pesta: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

Paloniemi stayed best as {10-Spades}{q-Clubs}{k-Spades} flopped to give him a straight draw to boot. However, a {q-Spades} turn gave Lamarca some outs to a flush. The river was a {9-Clubs}, improving Paloniemi to a straight and knocking out two players.

Kubaliak Eliminated With Big Slick

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Both Jonathan Abdellatif and Tomas Kubaliak were low on chips on the same table. Kubaliak open shoved from late position and barely had Kubaliak covered when he called for 184,000.

Kubaliak: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Abdellatif: {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Abdellatif immediately went from underdog to favorite after the {2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop included a deuce. The turn and river were blanks for both players. While Kubaliak was eliminated, Abdellatif more or less doubled up his stack.

Cervenik Left With Crumbs

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

In what looked like a limped pot, the small blind checked and Tim Cerkvenik bet 48,000 on the {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop. Stoyan Obreshkov made it 121,000 to go on the button, and Cerkvenik shoved to put him at risk for 319,000. Obreshkov called immediately.

Obreshkov: {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Cerkvenik: {10-Spades}{7-Spades}

Obreshkov was in pretty good shape fading sixes and jacks, but a {k-Spades} left him also needing to dodge spades. The river was a {7-Diamonds}, not enough improvement for Cerkvenik.
