Victor Ilyukhin Sr. at an earlier PokerStars event

Earlier Victor Ilyukhin Sr. was down to his last 5,000 chips, which at this early stage was still plenty. However, judging by his empty seat and the tournament clock showing an elimination, it's safe to say that Ilyukhin is no longer with us.

This event is re-entry, with players allowed up to three bullets - one in each starting flight. We will have to wait and see whether he is back at midday tomorrow for Day 1b.

Former EPT Champion Malec Eliminates a Player

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

The player under the gun opened to 800 and Sebastian Malec called in middle position. Andrea Ricci three-bet to 3,000 from the small blind and Malec was the only caller.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Ricci continued for 2,700. Malec called.

The pair checked the {7-Hearts} turn and the river was the {j-Clubs}. Ricci moved all in for around 10,000 and Malec snap-called and showed {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for a set.

Ricci was forced to show {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for a rivered pair of jacks and he was eliminated. Malec's stack received a small boost as Ricci was sent to the exit.
