Wigg Making Waves

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Anton Wigg
Anton Wigg

EPT Kopenhagen winner Anton Wigg has been near the chiplead all day and just added some more to his already impressive stack.

He opened the hijack for 9,000 and Krasimir Yankov called from the button. Wigg checked on {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Yankov bet 10,000. Wigg check-raised to 42,000 and Yankov called.

Wigg bet 68,000 on the {Q-Spades} turn and Yankov called once more.

They both checked the {J-Spades} river and Wigg tabled {7-}{7-} for the winning hand as Yankov mucked.

Wozniak Finishes the Job: Veksler Bubbles the EPT Prague Main Event

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Not too long ago, Mateusz Wozniak doubled through Pavel Veksler in a kings versus queens hand we reported on.

Now, on the stone bubble of the Main Event, the two clashed again. This time, though, everything would be on the line for Veksler.

Veksler opened the cutoff for 9,000 and his neighbor Wozniak called. The flop of {5-Spades}{J-Spades}{4-Spades} was still a somewhat reasonable affair as Veksler bet 15,000 and Wozniak just called.

The {4-Clubs} on the turn was checked by both and Veksler, with about 150,000 or so behind according to one of his tablemates after the hand, checked the {9-Spades} river. Wozniak now shoved all in for about 2.5 times the size of the pot.

As the dealer forgot to put the all-in button out, part of the audience wasn't too sure what was going on but for the players involved, it was very clear what was at stake.

Veksler tanked for quite some time and eventually called.

Wozniak showed {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} for the nut flush on the paired board. Veksler mucked but was eventually asked to show and tabled {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}.

Down to 175 players now, all guaranteed €8,710. With the tournament now in the money, 30-second shot clocks are now in place with players having all received two time bank cards.

Koplimaa Doubles Through Bedell on Bubble

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Tom-Aksel Bedell raised to 10,000 from the button and Markku Koplimaa called in the big blind.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for Koplimaa to shove for his last 13,000 and Bedell called.

Markku Koplimaa: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Tom-Aksel Bedell: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

Koplimaa had flopped top two pair and Bedell had a pair of deuces and the flush draw.

The rest of the board was completed with the {7-Hearts} on the turn and the {a-Hearts} on the river for Koplimaa to double up.

With 176 players left, the bubble has now really approached and hand-for-hand play has commenced.
