Konopelko Eliminated by Vaskaboinikau

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Mikalai Vaskaboinikau
Mikalai Vaskaboinikau

On a {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts} turn Andrei Konopelko checked to Mikalai Vaskaboinikau who bet 7,000. Konopelko check-raised all in for 31,000 and Vaskaboinikau snap-called.

Andrei Konopelko: {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Mikalai Vaskaboinikau: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Konopelko was drawing dead, and the river was the {4-Spades}. Vaskaboinikau was found to have just 30,000 so Konopelko was left with 1,000.

Konopelko was all in from the big blind on the very next hand. Vaskaboinikau raised to 2,000 and the play folded round to Konopelko.

Vaskaboinikau turned over {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} and Konopelko laughed heartily showing {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, with the pair conversing in Russian.

The conversation intensified on the {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop with Konopelko picking up a straight draw. He picked up extra outs on the {5-Spades} turn, but the river {a-Clubs} gave Vaskaboinikau a set and Konopelko was eliminated.

Lin Doubles Through Jones

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The flop was down {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, and Jeff Gross checked from under the gun to Ben Jones in the next seat who bet 6,200. Xia Lin was the third player in the pot and moved all in for 45,000 from the cutoff.

Gross contemplated his decision for 30 seconds before he folded his hand, and Jones made the call after around 20 seconds of thought.

Ben Jones: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Xia Lin: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}

Lin was in complete control of the pot with top pair and the nut flush draw. The turn {4-Diamonds} and river {8-Diamonds} were of no use to Jones and Lin secured a full double from the Brit.

Juan Pardo
Juan Pardo

The flop was down {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs}, and Juan Pardo Domínguez was able to get his stack into the middle against an opponent who had called his all in.

Juan Pardo Domínguez: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Pardo Domínguez was ahead with his overpair to the board and improved to a set on the river when the {10-Hearts} reeled off.

The Spaniard will be looking for much better luck today after he busted on the money bubble of the €50,300 Single-Day High Roller yesterday when his pocket aces were cracked by ace-eight.

Garcia Eliminated from the High Roller

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Sergio Garcia
Sergio Garcia

Sergio Garcia was down to 10,000 but mounted a comeback to 47,000 within a level. But the professional golfer has now been eliminated and he recounted the story to us.

According to him, one player raised to 1,500 from early position and got one call before Garcia defended his big blind.

The flop came {k-}{6-}{8-} with one heart and Garcia check-called 2,500 from his opponent, with the other player in the hand folding. The turn was the {3-Hearts}. Garcia checked and his opponent bet 6,200. Garcia moved all in and after a long tank his opponent called with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a flush draw.

Garcia was ahead with {k-}{10-} but there was a heart on the river and he was down to around ten big blinds.

He eventually got his remaining chips in with {a-}{10-} but came up against the {a-}{k-} of his opponent. There was an ace on the board, but nothing else, and Garcia was eliminated from the High Roller.

Wilf Hits House Against Lampropulos

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

The board was down {8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, and the action had been checked by two players to Saar Wilf on the button who then bet 10,000. Maria Lampropulos called in the small blind and the player in the big blind folded.

Lampropulos checked on the {4-Spades} river, and Wilf bet 20,000.

With the decision back on the Argentine, she thought for 30 seconds before using a time bank card. She then used a second card as while mulling over her decision, but as the 90-second mark approached she made the call.

Wilf revealed {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a full house and Lampropulos mucked, which allowed Wilf to move up to 110,000.
