Vahdat Takes From Hamed

Level 3 : 100/300, 300 ante

Basem Hamed limped under the gun and Shannon Shorr, who recently joined the field, raised to 1,200. Arvin Vahdat was on the button and called, with Hamed also calling.

The flop came {6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. It checked to Vahdat who bet 1,700. Hamed called and Shorr folded.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and both players checked. The river was the {k-Clubs} and Hamed bet 3,000. Vahdat called and was shown {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} by his opponent. Vahdat took down the pot with {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

Zhou Under Pressure

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

On a flop of {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Alex Komaromi in middle position and Sylvain Loosli on the button checked to see the {4-Spades} turn, which prompted Komaromi to bet 1,400 and Loosli called. The {3-Hearts} completed the board and Komaromi now made it 4,300 to go. That was enough to avoid a showdown, as Loosli folded.

One table over, Quan Zhou raised to 800 just before the blinds went up and Ryan Riess in the big blind was the only caller. The flop of {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} brought no action and Riess's bet of 1,000 on the {6-Spades} turn was called by Zhou. After the {10-Clubs} river, Riess bet 2,000 and Zhou folded, leaving himself with fewer than 20 big blinds for the next level.

Bicknell and Coppola Chop it Up After a Ruling

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Kristen Bicknell
Kristen Bicknell

The floor had been called on a hand involving Enrico Coppola and Kristen Bicknell. According to the table, Louis Nyberg had raised from under the gun and Coppola had called. Bicknell then three-bet from the button, Nyberg folded and Coppola called.

The dealer had then dropped and spread the deck, mixing in the folded cards. The floor told the dealer to shuffle the deck and await further instructions. When the floor returned, he explained that the pot would be chopped between Bicknell and Coppola.

The table disagreed with the ruling, and the floor agreed to check again. When the floor returned the second time, the ruling was confirmed and Bicknell and Coppola chopped the pot.

Small Pot for Been

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

The player in the cutoff raised to 1,000 and Aaron Been on the button three-bet to 3,300, which only the initial raiser called. Both ended up checking through the entire board of {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and the cutoff rolled over {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Been had that beat with the {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and raked in the pot.

While doing so, Been added "good flop" and both players grinned.

It was a battle of the blinds with a {2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop dealt between Enrico Coppola in the small blind, and Luca Greenwood in the big blind.

Coppola moved all in for 17,100 with less than 8,000 in the middle. Greenwood took his time before calling.

Piqué Gets Value From Soyza

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Michael Soyza defended his big blind and check-called a bet by Gerard Piqué on the {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop. Soyza then checked the {6-Spades} turn before calling a bet worth 6,500 and he also checked the {4-Spades} on the river. Piqué cut out a third barrel worth 16,000 and Soyza stared down the football star, tossed in the chips within his 30 second shot clock.

Piqué turned over {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a flopped full house and Soyza nodded with a "pretty good."
