Satubayev Chips Up

Level 2 : 100/300, 0 ante

With 16,000 in the middle and the flop showing {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, Shyngis Satubayev checked over to Ronald Keijzer and the Dutchman bet 7,000. Satubayev called and checked the {Q-Spades} on the turn once more. Keijzer bet 11,000 and his opponent called.

The {7-Hearts} on the river was checked through and Keijzer announced a straight, though, Satubayev was first to show. He flipped over {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{10-Spades} for the queen-high straight and Keijzer mucked.

Petersen Doubles Through Tarer

Level 1 : 100/200, 0 ante

Alexander Petersen had lost a massive pot to Johann Tarer early on and the two clashed again soon after. With 4,500 in the middle and the flop showing {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{4-Spades}, Tarer checked and called a bet of 1,500 by Petersen to see the {J-Hearts} on the turn. Tarer checked again and Petersen bet 4,000, which the Frenchman called.

On the {3-Diamonds} river, Tarer checked and Petersen moved all in for 5,100. After some consideration, Tarer called and was shown the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for trips jacks by Petersen. Tarer mucked the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{X-} and Petersen said "I got lucky there".

Chidiac Exits Early

Level 1 : 100/200, 0 ante

Dany Chidiac was eliminated only 15 minutes into the day and it was Ronald Keijzer that claimed the chips. According to Keijzer, he check-called the flop and hey got it in after the turn with Keijzer holding a straight and clubs nut flush draw, while Chidiac had two pair and an open-ender.

Over on table two, the action was also quite explosive. With around 5,000 in the middle and the flop showing {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Mohamed Benih Benmetir bet 5,000 and Pim van Holsteyn raised the pot. Benmetir moved all in and van Holsteyn called.

Mohamed Benih Benmetir: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Pim van Holsteyn: {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Both had flopped the straight and Benmetir had the superior straight redraw, while van Holsteyn had the clubs flush draw. The {K-Hearts} turn and {Q-Spades} river run out changed nothing and they chopped it up.

Petersen Caught Bluffing

Level 1 : 100/200, 0 ante

With around 2,000 in the middle and the river showing {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}, Alexander Petersen bet 1,000 once checked to him by Niko Soininen. The Finn gave it some thought and called, and Petersen joked "I have a straight" after rolling over {J-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} for busted straight draws.

Soininen had that beat with the {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for aces and fives.
