At noon local time today, 650 players will come together for the first time in the PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona €1,100 National event after four starting flights took place over the last two days at the Casino Barcelona.

An unofficial total of 4,348 entrants gathered across the two regular and two turbo blind flights, with each flight playing down until just 15% of the field remained and the money bubble burst.

Farukh Tach (808,000), Maksim Bura (736,000), Chengbei Li (731,000), Jan Teunis (730,000), Rui Nogueira Da Silva (732,000), [Removed:388] (710,000) and Camilo Hernandez Henao (700,000) will start the action as the big stacks.

Noteables names who will also return include Ludovic Geilich (405,000), Marti Roca de Torres (168,000), Tobias Peters(162,000), Jason Wheeler (150,000), and defending champion Pedro Cairat who bagged 223,000.

Blinds will recommence in Level 18 with the small blind at 4,000, the big blind at 8,000 and the big blind ante also at 8,000. Levels will be 60 minutes for the remainder of the tournament. The total prize pool and payouts will be announced at the start of Day 2, although all survivors are guaranteed to cash.

Before play gets underway, one player will be awarded a coveted Platinum Pass worth $30,000 for the PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship in a Crazy Pineapple Flip Out Hand challenge. The Flip Out Hand winner on each table will move to the next round (via a Shootout Format) where another Flip Out Hand will take place. This will continue until we have one winner, and the winner will be awarded a Platinum Pass. If there is a split pot at any time, the players who split the pot will take part in another hand. Normal play will resume for all tables in the tournament after that.

PokerNews will be bringing you all the action from what is expected to be an exciting day's play in the EPT National at Casino Barcelona.
