Quads for Vieira

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

After a raise, Joao Vieira three-bet with {Q-}{Q-} and received not one, but two cold-callers. The opener called as well to create four-way action in a three-bet pot. The flop was {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and Massimiliano Macciacchera led out for 3,000 into a 12000 pot. Vieira shoved all in for 17,000 and received an instant-call from Macciacchera, who held {A-}{J-}.

The {Q-} on the turn ended any doubts whether Vieira would win and Macciacchera's tournament ended on the spot.

Black Runs Into Deeb

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

On a {J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop, Jean-Noel Thorel checked from the small blind, Taylor Black bet 1,000 from middle position, Shaun Deeb called on the button and Thorel folded. The turn brought the {K-Diamonds} and Deeb now called a 3,500 bet from Black.

The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Black moved all in for 17,100. With lightning speed, Deeb called and instantly revealed {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for jacks full. Black flung {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} open in the muck and departed in the fourth level of the day.

Set Over Set Fatal for Zhou

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Quan Zhou
Quan Zhou

Quan Zhou already lost half his stack in the early stages of the day and has now parted ways with the rest of it as well. It was the dreaded set-over-set that did the Chinese in.

With four players on a {4-Spades}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, Zhou bet 1,500, Osvaldo Naves raised to 3,000, the two others got out the way, Zhou shoved 10,200 and Navas called with {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Zhou, logically, had the {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and couldn't hit the one-outer on the {2-Clubs} turn nor {10-Clubs} river.

Touché!

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

With the board reading {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Alexander Ivarsson bet 6,000, Philippe Le Touche raised to 14,000 and Ivarsson called. On the {7-Spades} river, Ivarsson checked and Le Touche shoved all in for 26,200. It was for the vast majority of Ivarsson's stack and the Swedish high roller gave it up after some deep thought.

Le Touche rolled over {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for what was likely the worst hand, said some things in French and celebrated the win with Fraser Macintyre next to him.

Delmas Makes the Right Call

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

After a raise to 500 from the cutoff and 1,200 on the button, Adrien Delmas found {Q-}{Q-} in the small blind and four-bet to 3,600. The button came along with the call. On a {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-} flop, Delmas bet 2,500 and got called.

The turn was the {2-Hearts} and Delmas fired a second barrel of 7,500, not enough to shake his opponent just yet.

On the {3-} river, Delmas checked and faced a bet of 10,000. After three minutes, the clock got called on the bearded Frenchman and he called while the seconds ticked away.

His opponent couldn't muster up more than {K-}{Q-} and Delmas soared to 60,000.
