Toma Felted by Martini

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Julien Martini raised the button and called the shove of Tsugunari Toma.

Toma was all in with the {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Martini called with {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. The {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop left Toma with exactly one out, and the {a-Spades} turn and {q-Spades} river brought no miracle escape for the Japanese.

Sperling Eliminates Barbosa

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The player on the cutoff opened to 8,000 and Joao Barbosa moved all in from the small blind for 75,000. Fabio Sperling reshoved for about 155,000 from the big blind and the cutoff let it go.

Joao Barbosa: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Fabio Sperling: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

It was a typical flip and the board ran out {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for Sperling to win the pot and eliminate Barbosa.

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Dejan Jakovljevic
Dejan Jakovljevic

An open-raise was called by Sorin Ionut Morariu and Dejan Jakovljevic then three-bet, which resulted in two calls. The {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop was checked to Jakovljevic and he pushed all in. The initial raiser folded and Morariu called.

Dejan Jakovljevic: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Sorin Ionut Morariu: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The {k-Hearts} turn came a blank, but the {8-Diamonds} river saved Jakovljevic, who doubled for 150,500.

Braco Busts Tikerpe

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Matthias Tikerpe raised to 8,000 on the button and Pasquale Braco three-bet shoved for about 205,000 from the small blind. Tikerpe called, putting at risk about 100,000.

Pasquale Braco: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Matthias Tikerpe: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Tikerpe was ahead but the runout was {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Braco rivered a pair of jacks to win the pot and eliminate Tikerpe.

Castaignon Busts Poustis

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Remi Castaignon
Remi Castaignon

Remi Castaignon three-bet to 18,000 on the button and initial raiser Marc Poustis called to see a {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. Poustis ended up all in with the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Castaignon looked him up with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

While Poustis still had some live cards, his run on Day 1a came to an end as the {4-Clubs} appeared on the turn. The river was the meaningless {a-Spades} and the Frenchman headed to the rail.

Charalambous Cracks Aces

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Christodoulos Charalambous three-bet to 27,000 and Maxime Foures then pushed all in for more than 170,000, which had Charalambous covered. The Greek eventually called and was at risk for 100,500 in total.

Christodoulos Charalambous: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Maxime Foures: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Foures was on the verge of adding another decent chunk of chips to his stack but fell behind on the {j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop. Neither the {8-Diamonds} turn nor the {6-Hearts} river changed anything and that locked up the double for Charalambous.

Kiviharju Eliminated by Braco

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Pasquale Braco opened to 6,500 under the gun and Visa Kiviharju called from middle position.

A flop reading {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} was dealt and Braco bet 7,000. Kiviharju called. The turn fell the {3-Clubs} and Braco continued with a bet of 14,000. Kiviharju responded by moving all in for about 38,000 and Braco snap-called.

Visa Kiviharju: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Pasquale Braco: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The {3-Hearts} filled up the board and Braco took down the pot with threes full of eighs, sending Kiviharju to the rail.
