€25,000 EPT High Roller

Day 1 Started

A Large Field is Expected for the €25,000 EPT High Roller

2019 PokerStars Monte Carlo EPT

The 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT festival is winding down and only a couple of high rollers remain on the schedule. Today will mark the start of the €25,000 EPT High Roller and the field is expected to be rather large.

Many of the world's best poker players have made their way to the Monte Carlo Bay Resort and Casino and this is one event they will not want to miss. As the €5,300 Main Event field gets smaller, many of the players will be jumping into this high roller for one last shot at glory.

This event will take place over the course of the final three days of the festival. Each player will receive a starting stack of 50,000 chips and the blinds will begin at 100/200 with a 200 ante for the first two hours. The blind levels will be 60 minutes in length throughout the tournament with a 20-minute break after every two levels. There will also be a 75-minute dinner break after the sixth level of the day.

There are 10 levels on tap for the first day of action and late registration will stay open throughout. It is not until the start of Day 2 that late registration will be closed. Players will be given the option of a single re-entry should their first bullet not go according to plan. This tournament will also be played with a 30-second shot clock and each player will receive six time banks that are worth 30 seconds apiece.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the live updates throughout the entire event.

Christopher Frank raised to 500 from the hijack and Charlie Carrel three-bet to 1,800 on the button. The blinds folded and Frank called to see a flop of {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}.

Frank check-called a bet of 2,400 from Carrel and the {9-Hearts} landed on the turn. The action slowed as both players checked and the {10-Clubs} completed the board. Frank led out for 2,500 and Carrel quickly flipped his cards into the muck.
