Luis Medina Eliminated in 6th Place (€152,800)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Luis Medina
Luis Medina

Manig Loeser raised to 160,000 from under the gun, Luis Medina three-bet shoved his final 485,000 and Loeser quickly called it off.

Luis Medina: {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Manig Loeser: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

There was no help for the Portuguese on a {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop but he picked up extra outs with the {4-Clubs} on the turn. The {10-Hearts} river wasn't one of them and Medina was gone in sixth place.

Loeser Rising Once More

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Nicola Grieco opened on the button with the {8-Spades}{7-Spades} and Manig Loeser called in the big blind with {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. On the {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, Loeser checked and called a bet of 200,000 by Grieco. The {7-Hearts} turn and {6-Diamonds} river were checked and Loeser scooped the pot.

Viktor Katzenberger opened to 200,000 with {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Loeser three-bet the small blind with the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. Katzenberger folded and Loeser claimed the second pot in a row to get up to almost five million in chips.

Katzenberger Pushes Riess Out

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Viktor Katzenberger
Viktor Katzenberger

Ryan Riess raised to 200,000 with {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} in the cutoff, Nicola Grieco called {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs} in the small blind and Viktor Katzenberger called {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} in the big blind.

Both Riess and Katzenberger caught something on the {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop. Riess continued for 200,000, Grieco folded, and Katzenberger simply check-raised all in for 6,560,000 to put pressure on the former world champ.

It was effectively for Riess' remaining stack of 2,410,000 and Riess gave up his top pair.

Another Shove by Medina

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Huang Picks Off Grieco's Bluff

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Wei Huang
Wei Huang

Wei Huang raised {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} on the button to 180,000 and Nicola Grieco called {k-Spades}{10-Clubs} from the small blind. The {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop went check-check. Grieco picked up some equity with the {j-Clubs} on the turn and both players checked again.

The {8-Spades} on the river prompted a 500,000 bet from Grieco and Huang considered it with the best hand.

Grieco let out a sigh and said: "For me, it's good you fold." That certainly triggered Huang, who literally snap-called after the Italian had spoken up.

"Flush," the Italian lied.

"Really?" Huang interrogated.

Grieco then made a hand motion indicating Huang should fold, but Huang obviously wanted Grieco to show his hand first. The Italian then showed his busted king-high and Huang took it down.

Luis Medina
Luis Medina

Down to just 485,000, Luis Medina found {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} in the cutoff and shoved all in. Ryan Riess folded {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} on the button, Wei Huang folded {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} in the small blind, and Nicola Grieco also folded to move Medina from six to eight big blinds.

More for Grieco; Riess Wins Some Back

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Ryan Riess raised to 125,000 with {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Nicola Grieco called in the cutoff with {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. The flop brought {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Riess checked to Grieco, who bed 155,000 and picked up a call.

After the {10-Hearts} turn both players checked and the {5-Diamonds} river saw Riess bet 300,000 and Grieco snap-call with his top pair to pull further away at the top of the counts.

Riess limped in from the small blind with the {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Wei Huang checked with {j-Spades}{5-Spades}. Riess paired his ten on {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs} and checked, Huang bet 60,000 and picked up a call.

On the {7-Hearts} turn, Riess picked up an additional flush draw and checked, Huang bet 150,000 and Riess stuck around. The {a-Diamonds} river was checked and Riess won the pot.

Down and Up for Riess

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess opened to 125,000 with the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and Viktor Katzenberger defended {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} in the big blind. Both players checked the {j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop and Katzenberger checked the {q-Spades} turn. Riess bet 100,000 and Katzenberger called to quickly check the {8-Diamonds} river.

Riess checked behind and Katzenberger claimed the pot with queens and treys.

Riess opened to 140,000 the next hand with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and Manig Loeser called in the big blind with {k-Clubs}{5-Spades}. They checked the {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop and the {4-Spades} followed on the turn. Again both players checked to see the {8-Spades} on the river and Loeser checked to face a bet of 120,000 by Riess.

Loeser contemplated the decision and ended up folding.

Medina on Ten Big Blinds

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Viktor Katzenberger opened to 140,000 with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Luis Medina called on the button with the {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, leaving 815,000 behind. Ryan Riess came along from the small blind with {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Wei Huang folded in the big blind.

On a {j-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, Riess checked and Katzenberger did so as well. Medina bet 180,000 to force out Riess and Katzenberger just called to check the {5-Diamonds} turn. Medina checked back and the {a-Clubs} came on the river.

Katzenberger moved all in and Medina folded to drop back down to ten big blinds.
