Two Monsters Put Katzenberger in the Lead

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Viktor Katzenberger

Ryan Riess raised to 175,000 with {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} from under the gun, Viktor Katzenberger picked up {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} in the small blind and three-bet to 480,000, which Riess called.

The flop was {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Katzenberger continued small for 260,000. Riess folded the weaker hand and Katzenberger jumped over Nicola Grieco to claim the chip lead.

In the next hand, Grieco raised to 350,000 in the cutoff with {j-Spades}{10-Spades}. Katzenberger picked up another big pair with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and called on the button. The flop was {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Grieco bet 420,000, which Katzenberger called. The {a-Hearts} on the turn got checked by both players.

The {5-Clubs} on the river completed a myriad of draws and went check/check again to move Katzenberger up even further.
