Defending Champion Diaz Among Casualties

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Guillaume Diaz has vanished and it remains to be seen if he busted in time to still register for Day 1c or if he was too late and won't be able to defend his title anymore. Also on the rail are several notables such as Chin Wei Lim, Thomas Boivin and Luca Moschitta.

Moreau Takes Another Hit

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

With some 60,000 in the middle and the turn showing {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}, Alexandre Moreau had pushed into Marc Isman, who eventually called with {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} for top two. That hand remained best after the {q-Diamonds} river and Isman doubled for 71,000.

"Were you thinking about folding?" Benny Glaser asked and Isman shared a story of big pot he had lost earlier in the day. Glaser confirmed that Moreau had pushed the turn with {a-}{4-} and took another hit to his stack as a result.

Bicknell and Margolin Depart

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Kristen Bicknell
Kristen Bicknell

Jack Sinclair was busy on his phone and typing a social media post with the words "Sorry Kristen," which he showed openly. That confirms the elimination of Kristen Bicknell, who had been on Sinclair's table and lost with jacks to the ace-king suited of the Brit.

Soon after, Malek Grabsi jammed up his stack and then defended his big blind against Timur Margolin's open raise from late position. Grabsi led the {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop for 6,500 and Margolin jammed for his last 52,500. Grabsi had that barely covered and needed some time, but made the call eventually.

Timur Margolin: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Malek Grabsi: {5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The {7-Hearts} turn improved Grabsi to a straight and he dodged the hearts redraw with the {5-Spades} river.

Schemion Wins a Big One Against Lampropulos

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

One limp was followed by a raise to 10,000 by Maria Lampropulos at the end of the previous level and Ole Schemion called in the big blind, the limper folded.

Schemion checked the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop and Lampropulos checked behind. A bet of 21,500 by Schemion followed on the {2-Clubs} turn and Lampropulos came along to face another bet of 61,500 on the {9-Diamonds} river. Lampropulos was sent into the think tank for more than three minutes and she then called for about half her remaining stack.

Schemion flipped over {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a flush and won the pot. "I wanted to fold, but couldn't," Lampropulos replied.
