Hartmann Fires Two Barrels

Level 3 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Pascal Hartmann was in the hijack and opened to 3,500, receiving calls from both Jean-Noel Thorel in the small blind and George Wolff, who defended his big blind. The flop came {3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and action checked to Hartmann, who made a continuation-bet of 4,000. Thorel folded and Wolff called.

The turn came {j-Clubs} and Wolff checked. Hartmann bet another 15,000 and Wolff sent his cards to the muck, resulting in the pot being sent Hartmann's way. Meanwhile, Thorel has chipped up to nearly a quarter-million nearing the midway point in Level 3.

Tough Start for Eibinger

Level 3 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Matthias Eibinger is already on his second bullet of the day and things haven't gone much better as of yet. After losing a big pot to Jun Obara, Eibinger raised it up 3,000 in the cutoff. He picked up calls from Robbie Toan on the button and Tsugunari Toma in the big blind.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and all three players checked to the {3-Hearts} on the turn. Toma checked again and Eibinger tossed in a bet of 8,000. Toan folded but Toma check-raised to 20,000 which forced Eibinger to muck his cards.

Gieles Good at Showdown

Level 3 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Luuk Gieles
Luuk Gieles

Laurynas Levinskas was under the gun and opened raise to 4,500. Action made its way around to Luuk Gieles, who was in the small blind and called. Ihar Soika also came along out of the big blind and action went three ways to a flop of {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. All three players checked.

Gieles checked again on the turn {6-Spades} to put action onto Soika, who bet 7,500. Levinskas folded and Gieles called, bringing the river {10-Spades} on board where both players checked to showdown.

Gieles announced a seven, tabling {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and earned the pot as Soika sent his cards to the muck.

Gieles Applies Pressure

Level 3 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Luuk Gieles saw action folded to him on the button and raised to 4,000. Laurynas Levinskas then three-bet to 15,000 from the big blind, and Gieles asked about how much he was playing. Levinskas said he started the hand with about 105,000 and Gieles quickly called upon receiving the information.

The flop dropped {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Levinskas made a continuation-bet of 80,000. Gieles thought for a couple of moments and then threw out a raise to 27,500. Levinskas let his hand go without much thought and the pot was sent Gieles' way.

Martirosian Out-Kicks Wolff

Level 3 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Artur Martirosian raised it up to 3,500 in middle position and was called by Jean-Noel Thorel and George Wolff in the blinds. The flop fell {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and the action checked to Martirosian who bet 6,000. Thorel folded but Wolff called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} which slowed the action as both players checked to the {8-Hearts} on the river. Wolff led out with a small bet of 4,000 and Martirosian quickly called. Wolff whipped over {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} but Martirosian had him out-kicked with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

Dvoress Eliminates Soika

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Ihar Soika
Ihar Soika

The board read {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} with Ihar Soika and Daniel Dvoress heads-up in a pot. Soika checked from middle position and Dvoress announced a bet of 28,000 from the cutoff. Soika called and the {q-Clubs} completed the board.

Soika checked again and Dvoress slid out a stack of around 50,000, enough to put Soika to the test for his remaining 35,000 chips. After using a time extension, Soika made the call and flipped over {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} for two pair. Dvoress held {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} for a better two pair and Soika was eliminated.

Greenwood Puts Ebinger To the Test

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Matthias Eibinger had appeared to chip up to a bit after losing nearly three-quarters of his stack upon reentry and was now in blind-on-blind battle with Sam Greenwood. There was around 40,000 in the pot on a board of {3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, and Eibinger checked to Greenwood, who was thinking about his decision.

"Fifteen seconds," said the dealer, letting Greenwood know that he had used half of his time bank. Greenwood dropped a stack of T5,000 chips out that looked to be about 65,000, well beyond what Eibinger had in his stack. Eibinger thought about his decision for a couple of moments and then let his hand go, opting to wait for a better opportunity to commit the rest as Greenwood took down the pot with his river bet.

Mateos Doubles Through Turmezey

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Adrian Mateos got his stack in from the cutoff preflop against Peter Turmezey, who gave him action in the small blind.

Adrian Mateos: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Peter Turmezey: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

The two were in a coin flip situation with Mateos at risk and in need of improvement to stay alive on his initial entry into the tournament. The flop was {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and the turn {8-Hearts} came behind it, leaving Mateos with one last opportunity to double. Lucky for him, the river {j-Hearts} was just what Mateos needed, earning him the double as a result. His stack was totaled to be 50,500 and Turmezey sent that amount his way.
