Mateos Wins a Flip vs Meulder

Level 5 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The action folded to Teun Mulder on the button who made it 5,500 to go. Adrian Mateos three-bet from the small blind Mulder four-bet shoved all in for a little over 50,000. Mateos made the call and they were off to the races.

Adrian Mateos: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Teun Mulder: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The flop of {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} left Mateos in the lead with his pocket eights. The {4-Diamonds} and {7-Clubs} runout was no help to Mulder who was sent to the rail.

Gieles Picks Off Plesuv for It All

Level 5 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Luuk Gieles
Luuk Gieles

There was around 30,000 in the middle on a board of {2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts} with heads-up action between Pavel Plesuv in the big blind and Luuk Gieles, who was in early position. Plesuv had checked and was facing a bet of 16,500 from Gieles with the clock ticking down on his time bank. He threw in an extension and followed up with a check-raise to 41,500, which Gieles confirmed the amount before making the call.

The river came {10-Diamonds} and Plesuv thought for a few moments before sliding the rest of his chips forward. Gieles immediately asked for a count and when the total of 53,000 was announced, he called just as quickly.

Plesuv tabled {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for a busted gutshot and Gieles quickly turned over {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}, scoring the pot and the knockout with his kings up to take him over 300,000.

Filatov vs Grafton

Level 5 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Anatoly Filatov opened to 5,500 from under the gun and Sam Grafton defended his big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Grafton check-called a bet of 4,000 from Filatov.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Grafton led out with a min-bet of 2,500. Filatov raised to 15,000 and Grafton called. The river was the {k-Spades} and both players tapped the table. Grafton showed {5-Spades}{4-Spades} but Filatov held the better pair with {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

"I was expecting him to value-bet a jack," Grafton said to Rainer Kempe on his right.

"It's a €25,000 buy-in. You're not expecting to play with a tool," Kempe joked.

It would be Kempe not laughing though, as he was seen leaving the tournament after the next hand.

Eibinger Back Near Starting Stack

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Matthias Eibinger saw action folded to him in the small blind and raised to 8,000. Sam Greenwood defended from the big blid and the flop fell {2-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Eibinger made a continuation-bet of 4,500 and Greenwood called.

The turn came {9-Hearts} and Eibinger kept his foot on the gas, firing another 19,000. Greenwood thought for a few moments and then sent his cards to the muck, resulting in Eibinger's second barrel earning him the pot.

Eibinger now finds himself up to 91,000 while Greenwood's stack has been trending in the opposite direction.

Aces for Obara

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jun Obara raised it up from the cutoff and Danny Tang called from the big blind. The two players saw a flop of {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Tang check-called a bet of 9,000 from Obara.

The {2-Hearts} paired the board on the turn and Tang checked again. Obara fired out another bet of 13,000 and Tang still called. The river was the {q-Spades} and Tang checked it again. Obara bet 16,000 which got a reaction from Tang.

"Aiiyah." A groan and a couple of curse words came from Tang as he felt obligated to make the call. Obara showed {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} and Tang mucked his cards.

Hartmann Doubles, Hajiyev Ousted

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ramin Hajiyev
Ramin Hajiyev

Ramin Hajiyev opened to 7,500 in the hijack and received a call by Pascal Hartmann, who defended his big blind. The flop came {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Hartmann checked. Hajiyev made a continuation-bet of 8,000, which Hartmann check-raised up to 21,000.

Action was then back on Hajiyev and he thought for a couple of seconds before sliding the rest of his chips forward. Hartmann quickly called all in for less.

Pascal Hartmann: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Ramin Hajiyev: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}

Hajiyev had gotten it in with two overcards to the board and a flush draw to go with it only to find his six pair outs were dead to Hartmann's aces. He would need to hit a spade to win the pot and would not do so as the turn {2-Hearts} and river {8-Hearts} completed the runout in safe fashion for Hartmann, whose remaining stack to be doubled was counted to be 69,000.

Just moments later, Hajiyev was seen leaving the tournament after sending the last of his chips to Ole Schemion.

Wolff Doubles Through Turmezey

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

After a couple of preflop raises, George Wolff on the button and Peter Turmezey in the small blind got all of their chips in the middle. Wolff was the player at risk for 85,500 but had the superior holding.

George Wolff: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Peter Turmezey: {10-}{10-}

The flop of {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} was close to hitting Turmezey but Wolff still stayed out front. The {2-Spades} on the turn changed nothing and the {9-Spades} on the river barely missed Turmezey again.

Kho Victim of Set-Over-Set

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

All of the chips had gotten in the middle and the dealer was completing a runout of {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{k-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} with Ole Schemion in middle position up against Kitson Kho, who was in the cutoff with a dead button from the recent elimination of Ramin Hajiyev.

Ole Schemion: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Kitson Kho: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Both players had flopped sets and Kho was unable to hit the one card in the deck that would improve him beyond Schemion. Schemion's remaining stack was counted to be 82,500 and Kho paid it off, leaving him with just 1,500 behind that he would lose shortly thereafter to result in his elimination from the tournament.
