Grossmann Sends Rados Packing

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Daniel Samson saw action folded to him in the cutoff and raised to 1,200, receiving a call from Job Greben on the button thereafter. Julijan Rados was next to act in the small blind and three-bet all in for 7,500. Lukasz Grossmann called behind out of the big blind and Samson and Greben folded, paving the way for a runout.

Julijan Rados: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Lukasz Grossmann: {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Rados was in prime shape to double until the flop dropped {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, giving Grossmann a pair of aces. Rados then had two chances left at hitting one of the two remaining kings in the deck to stay alive, but was unable to do so as the turn {4-Diamonds} and river {7-Diamonds} completed the runout to send him to the rail.

Baltaci Makes the Right Call

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Firat Baltaci raised it up from under the gun and picked up calls from Naor Liverant and Dermot Blain along the way. The flop came {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and the action checked to Blain in the hijack who bet 2,800. Baltaci called and Liverant did the same.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and the action checked around to the {a-Clubs} on the river. Baltaci checked again and Liverant was the one to toss in a bet of 4,200 this time. Blain thought for a moment before making the call and Baltaci eventually called as well.

Liverant was the first to show and tabled {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Blain had that beat with {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} but Baltaci rivered two pair with {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to earn the pot.

Rosen Nears Two Starting Stacks

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

There was around 17,000 in the middle on the river with a board of {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds} with a player in middle position having checked to Oren Rosen, who was in the cutoff. Rosen threw out a bet of 15,000 and his opponent went into the tank.

"I put you on jacks," said the player after close to two minutes in the tank. He continued thinking, adding "nines are also a possibility."

The player then said that both of those hands beat his and sent his cards to the muck, earning Rosen the pot without showdown and bringing him just shy of two starting stacks with around 10 minutes left before the first break of the evening.

Chen Knocks Out Helou

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Anatoly Chen opened to 1,200 from early position and saw Mark Helou three-bet him to 3,000 from the hijack. Action made its way back to Chen and he called, bringing a flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Both players checked.

The turn came {a-Clubs} and Chen checked again. Helou fired out 3,000 and Chen made the call.

The river fell {10-Spades} and Chen threw out a bet of 7,000, effectively putting Helou all in for just over 6,000. Helou thought for a couple of seconds and then announced a call.

Chen tabled {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a rivered trip tens and Helou sent his cards forward slightly onto the felt face down to muck them. They were tabled due to the all-in situation to display {a-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}, which proved to be second best, leaving him dry on chips for the final initial flight of the tournament.

Petrovic Puts a Small Dent in Mrakes' Stack

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

There was a raise to 1,000 from under the gun and two players called. Andre Petrovic shipped all in for 9,000 in the cutoff and the action folded back to Michal Mrakes in middle position who made the call.

Andre Petrovic: {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Michal Mrakes: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The flop of {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} put Mrakes well out front with a pair of kings. However, the {8-Diamonds} on the turn gave Petrovic a straight which left Mrakes drawing dead to the {7-Clubs} on the river. Despite the loss, Mrakes is still sitting on a healthy stack of over double what he started with.

Havacs Four-Bets Preflop

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Zoltan Havacs was in early position and pumped it up to 800, getting calls from the player on his left as well as the hijack. Victor Weissman re-popped it to 4,700 from the cutoff and action made its way back to Havacs and he put out three blue T5,000 chips to four-bet to 15,000. The two callers quickly folded to put action back on Wessman.

"You have about 10 (thousand) left?" asked Wessman.

"Around (that)," replied Havacs with a hand gesture to confirm the ballpark figure. Wessman took a couple of seconds and then sent his cards to the muck.

Guerrero Forced to Fold

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

There was around 12,000 in the middle and the dealer fanned the flop of {a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Jimmy Guerrero led out for 4,500 from the small blind and Maxime Chilaud called from the cutoff.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Guerrero fired out another bet of 7,000 which Chilaud still called. The river was the {7-Spades} and Guerrero opted to check this time. Chilaud thought for a minute before announcing all in, putting Guerrero to the test for his last 15,000 chips. Guerrero also took some time and muttered something in French before laying his hand down.
