Yankov Leading Despite a Small Speed Bump

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Belmehel Dja Daouadji raised it up from the hijack and was called by Romain Piraux and Krasimir Yankov in the blinds. The flop came {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} which stirred up plenty of action. The blinds checked to Daouadji who bet 5,000 and Piraux called. Yankov check-raised to 20,000 and Daouadji stuck in his last 20,200 chips. Piraux folded and Yankov obviously called.

It was a battle of the flush draws as Daouadji tabled {a-Spades}{6-Spades} while Yankov held {j-Spades}{5-Spades}. The turn was the {a-Hearts} which limited Yankov's outs and the {q-Clubs} on the river secured a double up for Daouadji.

Sun Makes Correct River Call

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

There was a bit over 13,000 in the middle from preflop action between the hijack and Liwei Sun, who was on the button. The flop came {2-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and the hijack checked to Sun, who bet 4,200 and received a call.

The turn came {9-Diamonds} and action went check-check, bringing the river {5-Clubs}. The hijack bet out 10,000 and Sun took about five seconds before making the call.

The hijack tabled {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for tens and nines and Sun showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, earning the pot with his queens up.

Rosa Fails to Bluff Sun

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Giuseppe Rosa raised to 1,400 from the cutoff and Liwei Sun three-bet to 4,700 on the button. The blinds folded and Rosa took nearly two minutes before making the call. The flop fell {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Rosa check-called a bet of 2,400 from Sun.

The turn was the {2-Clubs} and both players checked to the {8-Diamonds} on the river. Rosa tossed in a bet of 20,000 and Sun quickly called off his stack of 16,100. Rosa tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} but Sun turned over {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} in order to double up.

Juutilainen Wins Flip To Dust Piroddi

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Henri Juutilainen was on the button and three-bet to 5,300 over a cutoff open to 1,500. Federico Piroddi was in the big blind and three-bet all in for around 33,000. The cutoff folded and Juutilainen called to send the two off to the races.

Federico Piroddi: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Henri Juutilainen: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Piroddi was ahead for the time being and the flop {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} kept him out in front. However, the turn {k-Clubs} tilted the scales in Juutilainen's favor, leaving him with slim chances at a two outer to stay alive. He would not hit as the river fell {2-Clubs} and found his hand second best.

"Does he cover me?" said Piroddi, pushing over his stack of T5,000 chips to display his stack. Juutilainen indeed covered, and now finds himself with about three-and-a-half starting stacks midway through Level 7.
