"The only hope is to play a flop, shove it in, and hope he doesn't have it," Fidan Zahiti remarked in table chat.

Gregory Armand Eliminated in 19th Place (€14,875)

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Gregory Armand
Gregory Armand

Gregory Armand completed the small blind, facing Jasper Meijer van Putten in the big blind. The latter moved all in and Armand instantly called it off for about 1,600,000 total.

Gregory Armand: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Jasper Meijer van Putten: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

Armand was in a good spot from the get-go but Meijer van Putten picked up a flush draw on the {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop. While the flush draw wouldn't come in, it was the {3-Clubs} on the turn that'd hand him the victory, with the {8-Spades} river changing nothing.

Shaking his head, the American left the table while the Dutchman's stack grew to twice the size of his nearest challenger.

Nazar Buhaiov
Nazar Buhaiov

Timo Laasonen raised to 235,000 from early position and the rest of the table folded to Jasper Meijer van Putten in the small blind, who casually requested the all-in triangle to put the two remaining active players to the test.

Nazar Buhaiov took the better part of two minutes before calling it off for 1,550,000 total in the big blind, Laasonen quickly departed with his hole cards.

Nazar Buhaiov: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Jasper Meijer van Putten: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop paired the Ukrainian to take a commanding lead in the hand. The {7-Hearts} turn reduced Meijer van Putten to two outs, but the Dutchman seemingly can't do anything wrong today as the {8-Spades} popped up on the river to oust Buhaiov. A wide-smiling Laasonen pointed at Meijer van Putten, happy to have escaped disaster in the hand.

Meijer van Putten Manhandles Mascolo, Crests Ten Million

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Giulio Mascolo
Giulio Mascolo

Chip leader Jasper Meijer van Putten has been pushing the gas pedal non-stop today. Earlier, after a raise to 160,000 from Giorgiy Skhulukhiya under the gun and a three-bet to 495,000 from Vojtech Susta in the cutoff, Meijer van Putten four-bet to 950,000 on the button to shake both players out. A few hands later, he barrelled it off in a blind battle against Susta where the latter folded the river to be left with 1.4 million.

Meijer van Putten put in another raise a few hands later. Mascolo, in the big blind, three-bet shoved all in for 970,000 but the Dutchman snapped him off with a big hand.

Giulio Mascolo: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Jasper Meijer van Putten: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

A clean {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} board appeared for Meijer van Putten to force a tap-out from Mascolo. The remaining players subsequently redrew for the final three tables.

Konopelko Celebrates Too Early

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Andrei Konopelko
Andrei Konopelko

Fidan Zahiti mixed it up with a limp from under the gun and Andrei Konopelko, left short after the earlier clash with Lyudmil Ivanov, shipped his last 595,000 in the middle.

Ivanov wanted to finish what he'd begun earlier and called from the small blind but snap-folded when Zahiti came over the top all in.

Andrei Konopelko: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Fidan Zahiti: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

"One time!" the aminated Zahiti yelled among other words in his native language. The {9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop was the low one he needed, but the {k-Hearts} on the turn gave Konopelko a massive lead in the hand.

Konopelko roared when the turn fell, pumping and shaking both of his fists in excitement. Zahiti let out a sigh in disappointment but bolted out of his seat when the {10-Hearts} on the river brought him one of the two remaining outs.

Ecstatic, he pumped his fist in celebration and a loud "come on" echoed throughout the room. Needless to say, Konopelko's spirit was crushed and, with a sullen look on his face, he darted out of the tournament room.
