Andras Nemeth

Andras Nemeth weathered a verbal assault from Martin Kabrhel to win the final EPT Prague €25,000 High Roller for €181,520.

Barely a minute passed without comment or question from Kabrhel during the heads-up battle as the momentum swung back and forth between the pair, but Nemeth finally came out on top to clinch his second EPT Prague €25,000 High Roller title of the festival.

Stephen Chidwick and Pablo Brito Silva were the only other two players to cash, with just four places paid from a field of 18.

Final Day Recap

With eight new entries to start the day, start-of-day short stack Johan Guilbert hit the rail early, along with Niklas Astedt, Orpen Kisacikoglu and Yuri Dzivielevski, all of whom bought in on Day 2.

Chris Brewer hit the rail in ninth, with the final eight players still led by Nemeth. There were doubles for Pablo Brito Silva, Marius Gierse and Daniel Dvoress before Gierse hit the rail, followed by Nick Petrangelo.

Nemeth had extended his lead and looked to push ahead even further, only to be pegged back by doubles from Kabrhel and Silva, the latter with pocket kings.

However, his lead was restored after flopping quads to bust Dvoress in sixth and the bubble burst when Timothy Adams ran ace-jack into the ace-queen of Nemeth to leave empty-handed.

Nemeth and Kabrhel shared an elimination apiece as Stephen Chidwick and Silva were eliminated, with Nemeth taking a healthy chip lead into heads-up play.

The heads-up match was as entertaining as it was talkative — from one of the players at least. It was an onslaught from the get-go, with Kabrhel impersonating Phil Hellmuth, suggesting the assembled rail should pay to watch, commenting on the "courage" of his opponent as well as singing and sharing jokes with his masseuse.

And it worked! Kabrhel took over the chip lead and had his opponent down to under 20 big blinds, only for the momentum to shift and see Nemeth take control.

A late double from Kabrhel wasn't enough to postpone the inevitable, and Nemeth finished it off to add €181,520 to the €211,760 he won earlier in the festival.

Martin Kabrhel Eliminated in 2nd Place (€121,010)

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel moved in with his last 250,000 and Nemeth decided to make the call.

Martin Kabrhel: {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Andras Nemeth: {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}

"It was a bluff!" exclaimed Martin, as his jack-high was the underdog. The {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop provided Kabrhel some back-door opportunities but the {5-Diamonds} paired the board.

The {2-Clubs} came on the river to give Nemeth the check mark, the €181,520 up top and his second EPT Prague High Roller title of the series.

Kabrhel, who was a Day 2 registrant, walked away with €121,010.

"I Don't Believe You Have Such Big Balls"

Level 18 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Andras Nemeth opened to 55,000 and Martin Kabrhel called.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts} and both players checked.

Kabrhel bet 50,000 on the {j-Diamonds} turn and Nemeth called.

The river was the {8-Hearts} and Kabrhel bet 75,000. Nemeth raised all in for 429,000.

Kabrhel deliberated for a minute or so.

"I don't believe you have such big balls," he said, before ultimately folding.

"It was a bluff? You found your balls?" Kabrhel asked. "I put you on nine-ten. I had jack-peanuts..."

Pablo Brito Silva Eliminated in 3rd Place (€77,790)

Level 17 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Pablo Brito Silva
Pablo Brito Silva

Pablo Brito Silva moved all-in for 138,000 from the button before Martin Kabrhel re-shoved from the small blind. Andras Nemeth folded to set up the all-in showdown.

Pablo Brito Silva: {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Martin Kabrhel: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Kabrhel paired up on the {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop but the {5-Diamonds} turn gave the at-risk player a hist of outs to survive. The {j-Spades} was a brick and Brito Silva bowed out in third place for €77,790.

Heads-up play is now underway.

Nemeth Flops Quads to Bust Dvoress

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Daniel Dvoress shoved for 98,000 from under the gun. Martin Kabrhel flat-called in the next position before Andras Nemeth three-bet all in for 487,000 from the next position.

It folded back to Kabrhel who contemplated his decision.

"Ace-seven Hungary?" he asked Nemeth. "You want to bust? These Hungary boys..."

He asked for a count. "That's reasonable," he said. "That's very reasonable actually. From chip leader to bubble boy," he said to Nemeth, but ultimately he folded.

Daniel Dvoress: {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Andras Nemeth: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The flop {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds} gave Nemeth quads, but Dvoress wasn't dead as he still had outs to a runner-runner straight flush. The turn {4-Diamonds} was close to giving him that draw, but was ultimately a brick as the {a-Spades} river sent Dvoress to the rail.

"On this flop I stack myself so easily with my pocket sixes," said Kabrhel.

Pablo Brito Silva: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Andras Nemeth: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Brito Silva was never in trouble and picked up a much needed double following the {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs} runout.

Kabrhel Scores Big Double Through Nemeth

Level 15 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Andras Nemeth raised to 24,000 from under the gun and Martin Kabrhel defended his big blind.

The flop was {k-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Kabrhel check-called 22,000. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Kabrhel again checked.

This time Nemeth bet 70,000 and Kabrhel called.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Kabrhel checked. Nemeth bet enough to put Kabrhel all in, and he snap-called.

Nemeth showed {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for two pair, kings and deuces, but Kabrhel had that beat with {k-Spades}{10-Hearts} for kings and tens.

"So that's what you're straddling with Hungary," said Kabrhel. "Ace-high, huh?"

Daniel Dvoress opened to 32,000 from the cutoff and then called the 86,000 jam from big blind Timothy Adams.

Timothy Adams: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Daniel Dvoress: [aqc]

Adams was dominated and looked to be on the verge of elimination after the {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop. The {k-Diamonds} turn was the miracle card Adams needed and he got the double-up following the {4-Diamonds} river.
