O'Kearney Having a Tough Time; Arnault Busts

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Dara O'Kearney
Dara O'Kearney

With 3,500 in the middle on the {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, The blinds checked to Dara O'Kearney who bet 1,000 from early position. Aris Giachnis called on his immediate right, as did the blinds. The {10-Hearts} checked through to the {q-Hearts} river where Giachnis fired for 2,200 and only the small blind, Olivier Arnault called.

Giachnis turned over the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} to scoop.

The very next hand, Giannopollos Konstantinos opened to 1,000 and O'Kearney three-bet to 3,600 from the big blind. His opponent called to see the {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and then check-raised to 20,000 after the Chip Race podcast host bet 3,100. O'Kearney returned his cards to the muck.

A few hands later, Jacobo Montoya opened to 1,000 and O'Kearney raised again, this time to 3,000. Montoya called.

The {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop checked through to the {4-Diamonds} turn, where Montaya led for 3,500. O'Kearney again made the fold and has become a short stack. His table mate Arnault however, would bow out in the next hand.
