The United Kingdom's Mooney and Shaw Joint Chip Leaders

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Set versus Set versus Nut Flush Draw
Set versus Set versus Nut Flush Draw

John Mooney is flying in the €2,200 Eureka High Roller, with one of the largest stacks in the tournament room. He recalled a hand to PokerNews from earlier on in the day which helped him to get to where he is.

Blinds: 100/300/300

A player in early position limped before the player in middle position made it 1,000. There was another caller in late position and Mooney called on the button with the {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. The limper came along as well.

There was some serious action on the {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop. The early position player checked, the middle position player bet 3,500 and the player to act before Mooney made it 7,000. Mooney, then shipped in his stack with only the limper and late position player calling off their stacks.

Early Position: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Middle Position: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
John Mooney: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Mooney was behind the two sets but would go onto turn the nut flush as the {q-Diamonds} hit the table and scooped after the {a-Clubs} river.

Elsewhere, WSOP bracelet winner Carl Shaw is having a fruitful Day 1, and shares a similar sized stack to that of his compatriot.
