Petrov Gets a Shove Through

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was joined on a board reading {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. Into a pot of about 45,000, Petar Petrov shoved 36,000 from the small blind.

From middle position, Sergio Benso had a long think about it before eventually pitching his cards away and sending Petrov the pot.

River Causes Carnage

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Ori Haim Elul
Ori Haim Elul

Ori Haim Elul raised to 2,500 from under the gun. Curtis Lambert three-bet to 6,500 from early position. Elul then four-bet it to 14,500 when it was back on him which Lambert called.

The flop came {10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Elul continued for 7,500 and Lambert called. The turn was the {q-Diamonds} to bring in two flush draws. Both players checked.

The river came the {k-Hearts}. Elul bet 13,000. Lambert raised to 26,000. Elul moved all in and Lambert snap-called.

It was soon revealed how dynamic the river had been as Elul tabled the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} for the rivered boat while Lambert had the {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for the no good rivered broadway and he was busted while Elul gathered the big pot.

Ghionoiu Spikes a Straight

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Daniel Ghionoiu and David Taieb were heads up to a board showing {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}, with the rest of Ghionoiu's stack in the middle.

Taieb took some time before making the call for 18,000, and the players revealed their holdings.

Daniel Ghionoiu: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
David Taieb: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Taieb was ahead with top two pair, but the {a-Clubs} river gave Ghionoiu a straight to survive.

Orpaz Makes Unnecessary Quads

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Tom Orpaz
Tom Orpaz

Tom Orpaz opened from under the gun to 2,300 and was three-bet by Danut Chisu to 7,500. Orpaz then committed enough to put Chisu all in, and the call was made.

Danut Chisu: {5-Spades}{5-Spades}
Tom Orpaz: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Chisu's lead in the flip was short-lived, as Orpaz connected with the {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop. Chisu was then drawing dead after the {a-Hearts} turn, and the {10-Hearts} river gave Orpaz quads as he scored the knockout.

Pommier Calls Drake's Bluff

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Three-way action to the {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop saw Christophe Pommier, Benny Glaser and Ian Drake check around.

Pommier led out for 3,200 on the {9-Diamonds} turn, with Glaser folding and Drake making the call. Pommier then checked the {9-Spades} river, and Drake tossed out a bet of 10,000.

Pommier took a moment before making the call, showing {4-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a full house. Drake turned over his bluff of {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Pommier raked in the chips.

Patel Flops a Double Up

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Mehul Patel was heads up with Samir Khallouki, who checked {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop. Patel fired 2,000 and was called by Khallouki, and big action followed the {8-Clubs} turn.

Khallouki checked to Patel, who continued for 3,500. That was met with a check-raise from Khallouki to 10,000, and Patel followed by reraising all in for 29,200. Khallouki called with one card to come.

Mehul Patel: {5-Spades}{4-Spades}
Samir Khallouki: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Patel was ahead with a straight on the flop, and dodged Khallouki's draw to a higher straight on the {j-Clubs} river to double up.

Hamilton Cracks Aces

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action was headed to the turn as it read {10-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades} after it was dealt. There was an already chunky pot of about 28,000 in the middle and Wlliam Tansley checked behind in the small blind while Ian Hamilton checked behind in the hijack.

The river was the {7-Hearts}. Both players checked again.

Tansley revealed the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} but the red aces had been cracked as Hamilton showed the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for rivered two pair, leaving Tansley to shake his head.
