Turned Set Saves Hong

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Steven Jones Jr completed in the small blind and Jinho Hong raised from the big blind. Jones responded with a limp-jam and Hong called off with his stack of 33,700.

Jinho Hong: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Steven Jones Jr: {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The flop came {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Clubs} to pull Hong out of his seat as his opponent had gotten there, but the {q-Clubs} then peeled off on the turn to give Hong a set and have Jones drawing dead headed to the {2-Diamonds} river.

Brechot Busts to Strickling

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Bastian Strickling opened to 2,000 from early position, and after a middle position flat, Pascal Brechot moved in his 19,000 chips from the small blind. Strickling was the lone caller.

Pascal Brechot: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Bastian Strickling: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} flop gave each player a bit of something and provided chip outs, but the {j-Hearts} and {k-Hearts} completed the board to give Strickling a boat and the pot.

Sandev's Stack Sliced

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

Over on table 33, a raising war saw Ramon Colillas and Georgi Sandev get their stacks in preflop, with Colillas the one at risk.

Ramon Colillas: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Georgi Sandev: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Sandev's jacks looked good on the {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{q-Clubs} flop, but the {a-Clubs} turn saw Colillas take the lead. The {5-Clubs} river completed the board and Colillas secured a healthy double-up.

Morstol Wins Classic Race

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

John Mooney ended up getting his approximately 45,000 chips in from the hijack and was at risk against Thor Morstol in middle position.

John Mooney: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Thor Morstol: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

It was a classic race, and the {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop kept the ladies ahead. However, the {a-Spades} hit the felt on the turn to vault Morstol into the lead, and the {4-Diamonds} completed the board to confirm the result.

Fraser Rewarded for Bold Preflop Play

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Christopher Fraser raised in early position and John Adderley three-bet shoved a small stack from the blind. Fraser had his opponent well-covered but was reluctant in calling, and his table mates saw why when he revealed his holding.

John Adderley: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Christopher Fraser: {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

"You opened with that?" laughed a player at the table.

"I'd have to ramble to explain the preflop action," Fraser replied as he took a swig from his Peroni.

But Fraser was rewarded as the flop landed {9-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} to give him a big lead with top pair and Adderley hit the rail as the board finished out {7-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

"Can we pretend that got in on the flop?" Fraser asked PokerNews.

Francisco Benitez

Benny Glaser opened to 2,500 from early position and Francisco Benitez reraised to 6,000. The rest of the table folded back to Glaser.

After a small pause, Glaser elected to four-bet shove and Benitez called.

Benny Glaser: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Francisco Benitez: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Glaser was eliminated from the tournament.

Benitez, who recently won over $1.1 million at EPT Barcelona, has continued his strong form here in London and now sits amongst the bigger stacks in the room.
