Pilkington's Pair is Best

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Jessica Pilkington
Jessica Pilkington

Action folded to Ole Schemion who opened to 20,000 on the button and found one caller in Jessica Pilkington, in the small blind.

On a flop of {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} both players checked and the {q-Clubs} turn paired the board.

Pilkington checked once more and Schemion fixed his gaze on his opponent before checking behind.

The river was the {10-Hearts} and both players checked for a third time with Pilkington showing her {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} at showdown and taking down the pot.

Schemion Spikes to Double Through Schmitz

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Ole Schemion had gotten his 251,000 chips in from the cutoff and was at risk against Michael Schmitz in the big blind.

Ole Schemion: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Michael Schmitz: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop left Schemion in rough shape, although he picked up a wheel draw on the {4-Spades} turn. It was the {a-Diamonds} to spike the river, however, and Schemion secured the double to leave his fellow German short-stacked.

Romero Takes From Sitbon

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Jordi Romero raised to 20,000 in early position, with Julien Sitbon calling to his left and Enzo Vito also making the call in the big blind.

Vito led out for 25,000 on the {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop and both opponents called to see the {3-Clubs} turn. Vito checked to Romero, who bet 62,000. Sitbon called, while Vito mucked his hand.

The river {8-Clubs} brought a bet of 110,000 from Romero, and Sitbon used a time card before tossing in the call. Romero showed {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Sitbon nodded as he slid his cards to the dealer.

Schmitz Triples, Then Busts

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Michael Schmitz
Michael Schmitz

Down to less than two big blinds after doubling up Ole Schemion, Michael Schmitz three-bet jammed a stack of 18,000 from the button to see a flop against Wayne Heung in the big blind and Alexandre Vuilleumier, who had raised from under the gun.

"Triple up incoming!" Schmitz predicted with a laugh.

The flop of {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} checked through and the same action took place on the {10-Diamonds} turn. Heung then bet on the {5-Clubs} river to get a fold from Vuilleumier.

"I think I've got this one," Schmitz said proudly as he tabled {k-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a full house to win the pot against the {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} of Heung.

A few hands later, Schmitz open-jammed his newly tripled stack and his old foe Schemion called in the big blind.

Michael Schmitz: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Ole Schemion: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

"I'm fine with you calling with that," Schmitz said before eating his words as the board landed {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs} to give his opponent an open-ended straight draw.

"On the other hand..." retracted Schmitz.

The {j-Diamonds} on the turn gave Schemion the straight to have Schmitz drawing dead and he joked that he would "never play with you (Schemion) again" as the teasing {a-Diamonds} bricked off on the river.

Schemion Eliminated by Vuilleumier

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Alexandre Vuilleumier opened to 20,000 on the button and Ole Schemion three-bet to 82,000 in the small blind. Vuilleumier called.

The dealer spread the {k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop and Schemion continued for 44,000. Vuilleumier called.

The {8-Clubs} landed on the turn and Schemion moved out a bet of 110,000. Vuilleumier again called.

The {j-Diamonds} completed the board and Schemion checked. Vuilleumier moved all in to send Schemion into the tank with a decision for his remaining stack of approximately 255,000. Schemion used all of his time extensions as he deliberated and the clock started to wind down.

"Last one?" Schemion asked the dealer as he pointed to a time bank card.

"These are the last eight seconds," the dealer responded while the clock continued to tick.

"Call," Schemion announced as he put in chips with only a few seconds left to make a decision.

Vuilleumier tabled {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a rivered flush, and Schemion could only show {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts} as he made his exit from the tournament, while Vuilleumier became the chip leader.

Ian Hamilton
Ian Hamilton

Ian Hamilton raised to 20,000 from middle position and was called by Jordi Romero to his left. Hamilton checked the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop and Romero slid out a bet of 35,000.

Hamilton then check-raised to 125,000 and was called to see the {k-Spades} turn before leading out for 175,000 chips. Romero called and fired 85,000 on the river {9-Hearts} before Hamilton check-raised to 500,000.

Romero instantly slid two time cards to the dealer as he pondered his decision, eventually using a third before making the fold. Hamilton slid his cards forward and took down a sizeable pot.
