Oosterbaan Gets Pressured Right Away

Level 6 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

After just re-taking his seat at the lone table in play, Arnold Oosterbaan found himself deep in another big pot with Alex Kulev. A completed board of {q-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} was spread across the table with around 70,000 in the middle already.

Oosterbaan checked from the big blind and Alex Kulev moved out a bet of 175,000. Oosterbaan went deep into the tank for at least two minutes, using four of his time banks. He eventually folded and Kulev raked in the pot.

Mateos Hits a Rough Patch in the Blinds

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Alex Kulev limped in from the small blind and Adrian Mateos raised to 8,000 in the big blind. Kulev responded with a re-raise to 32,000 and Mateos called.

The dealer fanned the flop of {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Kulev counted out a bet of 40,000 which got Mateos to quickly fold.

On the next hand, Mateos raised to 9,000 from the small blind and Philip Sternheimer three-bet to 28,500 in the big blind. Mateos called and the flop of {3-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} was spread across the felt.

Mateos checked to Sternheimer who bet 18,000 and Mateos called. The turn was the {6-Spades} and Mateos checked again. Sternheimer put together a bet of 40,000 and Mateos snap-folded.

Kulev and Mateos Chop Up Lefrancois

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Alex Kulev - Adrian Mateos
Alex Kulev - Adrian Mateos

Alex Kulev opened to 5,500 from the hijack and Adrian Mateos three-bet to 16,000 from the next seat. Pascal Lefrancois then four-bet jammed a stack of 110,000 from the big blind and Kulev re-shoved with the chip lead. Mateos snap-called with Lefrancois covered.

Pascal Lefrancois: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Adrian Mateos: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Alex Kulev: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

"That's good for you!" Kulev told Lefrancois, who was behind but the only player with immediate outs.

But he couldn't hit one of those two outs as the board ran out {8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Spades} to mark the Canadian's elimination as Mateos and Kulev split the pot.

"You had him covered?" Kulev cheekily asked Mateos as he tried, to no avail, to get a bigger share.

Oosterbaan Shoves, Kulev Keeps Climbing

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Arnold Oosterbaan opened to 5,000 in the cutoff and Alex Kulev three-bet to 13,500 on the button. Oosterbaan responded by shoving all in for 91,500. Kulev asked for a count but decided to fold.

On the next hand, Kulev raised to 5,500 and Oosterbaan defended from the big blind. The flop came {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Kulev won the pot with a bet of 9,500.

Following that, Adrian Mateos opened to 5,500 and was called by Philip Sternheimer on the button and Kulev in the big blind. The flop came {j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and the action checked to Sternheimer who bet 6,000. Kulev called and Mateos stepped aside.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {2-Hearts} on the river. Two more checks and Kulev tabled {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of sevens to win the pot.

Sternheimer Good at Showdown

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Adrian Mateos raised to 9,000 from the small blind and Philip Sternheimer defended out of the big blind.

The flop landed {q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Mateos continued for 5,500. Sternheimer called. Mateos then checked on the {j-Clubs} turn and Sternheimer checked back.

Mateos checked again on the {10-Hearts} river and Sternheimer checked back.

"Ace," said Mateos before showing {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for ace-high, which was no good against the pair of sixes of his opponent with {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.
