Abakirov Hits River to Win Flip Against Lodge

Kubanychbek Abakirov raised to 40,000 from the hijack before Harry Lodge three-bet to 145,000 from the small blind. Action folded back around to Abakirov who four-bet all in for 540,000. Lodge quickly called for almost all his chips.

It was a flip as Abakirov had the overcards against Lodge's pocket pair. The flop came 
putting Lodge in firm control. The 
gave Lodge a set of jacks but gave Abakirov a gutshot. Abakirov looked poised to be eliminated from the tournament but the river came the 
giving Abakirov broadway to stay alive and double up. Abakirov thanked the dealer while Lodge was left with less than three big blinds.
