Huber Takes From Obreshkov

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Sebastian Gahl had just chipped up through Gudmundur Sigurjonsson on a {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} turn when he bet 6,000 and the Icelander folded.

One hand later, Stefan Huber raised to 700 on the button and Stoyan Obreshkov called in the big blind. Obreshkov check-called for 1,400 on the {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop and 3,100 on the {6-Hearts} turn. The {10-Hearts} fell on the river and Obreshkov checked again. Huber bet 6,500 and forced a quick fold.

Pecheux Chips Up Some More

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Erwann Pecheux
Erwann Pecheux

Two tables were still playing several minutes into the break. One of them saw Erwann Pecheux lead the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} turn for 2,000 and Alexandru Mircea called in the cutoff. Both checked the {6-Spades} on the river and Pecheux rolled over the {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a straight to win the pot.

Juan Pardo was then all-in on a ten-high river and Jamal Laghzaoui reluctantly folded. "Did you have a set?" Laghzaoui inquired and Pardo nodded, then asked back if his opponent had two pair. That was also confirmed with a quick nod as well as both parted ways moments later.

First Break on Day 1b

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Despite the fact that the issue has been mostly fixed, the well-known squeaking of the chairs still happens especially when players are pushing them to go into breaks. Several hundred of them are doing so right now upon completion of Level 2, which shows 494 players out of 507 entries remaining.

The first break of the day will last 20 minutes and the dinner break has been moved to the end of level eight, so participants can follow the second half of the football match.

No Double-Up for Ejlal Noubarian Yet

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Jorge Ufano raised to 600 and was called by Benjamin Lebor as well as Aliaksei Boika on the button. Majid Ejlal Noubarian in the small blind pushed all-in for the last 3,600 and all his opponents folded. Ejlal Noubarian shrugged as he was hoping to go for a double-up and then joked in table chat he had pocket aces albeit without showing the cards.

Three in a Row for Hjulstroem

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel limped in and Linus Hjulstroem raised to 700 on the button for Thorel to call. On the {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop, Thorel checked and then folded to a bet.

Hjulstroem raised the cutoff next and won the blinds and big blind ante. He also made it 500 to go from the hijack and EPT Barcelona Main Event winner Sebastian Sorensson called in the small blind. The flop brought {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Sorensson check-folded to a bet worth 400 as Hjulstroem raked in the third small pot in a row albeit with a lot of frustration.

Pilkington Picks off the Bluff

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Jessica Pilkington
Jessica Pilkington

Jessica Pilkington opened to 500 from early position and action folded around to Sergio Castelluccio who reraised to 1,400 from middle position. With the action back to Pilkington she took a few moments before throwing in a call.

On a flop of {j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Spades}, both players checked and saw the {9-Clubs} turn. Both players opted to check the {k-Clubs} turn and went to the river.

The river came {k-Diamonds}, pairing the board, and Pilkington checked for the third time. This time Castelluccio fired out 1,600 on the river, putting Pilkington to the test. After a few moments, Pilkington called showing {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} which was good versus the {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} of Castelluccio.

Pilkington is fresh off her victory in the Ladies Event at EPT London and looking to add an EPT Main Event title to her already impressive resume.
