Heidorn Flipped Out by Nedved

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Robert Heidorn
Robert Heidorn

Robert Heidorn had opened and a single T-1,000 chip was in front of him. Johnny Nedved called and Jonathan Therme then three-bet to 2,100. A longer tank by Heidorn resulted in a call and Nedved then reraised to 8,100.

Therme got out of the way and Heidorn pushed all-in for 18,200 as Nedved called within a couple of seconds.

Robert Heidorn: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Johnny Nedved: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and the ace on the turn sent Heidorn to the rail.

Begni Chips Up Through Isaia

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Alessio Isaia bet the heads-up turn of {9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for 2,200 and Roberto Begni called. The {9-Diamonds} on the river was checked through and Isaia exposed the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for nines and eights. Begni had that beat with the {k-Spades}{j-Spades} and won the pot. Both players have already increased their stacks since sitting down with Isaia off to an even better start despite this minor setback.

Diaz Left with Dust

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Ionut-Flavius Voinea
Ionut-Flavius Voinea

After a raising war preflop Ionut-Flavius Voinea and Gilbert Diaz managed to get their stacks in with Voinea the player at risk.

Ionut-Flavius Voinea: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Gilbert Diaz: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and the king on the turn was enough to secure Voinea the double with his pair of kings, out pipping Diaz and his queens.

Diaz is now down to just under thirty big blinds whilst Voinea has soared up the chip counts.

Cahill Among the Early Casualties on Day 1b

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Seamus Cahill was spotted on his way out of the tournament area and the dealer had already mucked his cards while a large pot was pushed over to Adrian Garcia Galipienso. The Spaniard had been the second casualty of the day and re-entered to now find himself with two times the starting stack.

On a board of {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, his {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} were good enough for aces full and when another player at the table inquired, the dealer replied with an "nine ten" - likely referring to the cards of Cahill.

Noronen Felted by Kozieja

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Grzegorz Kozieja
Grzegorz Kozieja

Erkan Soenmez was involved in the action but got out of the way when Grzegorz Kozieja reraised to 2,500 and Antti Noronen squeezed to 6,000. Kozieja then pushed all-in with the covering stack and Noronen grinned, giggled and motioned he'd like to wager his entire starting stack.

Antti Noronen: {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Grzegorz Kozieja: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop propelled Noronen into the lead and he remained there on the {7-Diamonds} turn. "No spade," he uttered but that's what came with the {7-Spades} river to end his tournament.

"He was only here for three hands, we even had to explain to him what ante was," Soenmez shrugged.

Dubles Among the Shorter Stacks

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

On the tail end of a heads-up pot to the {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} board, Nusret Atmaca bet 2,500 and Claudiu Dubles called. Atmaca tabled the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for kings and jacks with the nut kicker to win the pot. Dubles may need to double soon as he dropped to a third of the starting stack.

Eller Applies Pressure on the River

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

On a board of {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, Khazret Nebezhev bet 2,500 into a pot of 4,000 and was met by a raise of 12,800 from Andreas Eller.

Nebezhev took a few moments before counting out some chips and slowly placing them back in his stack, peeling his card protector off his hand and throwing his cards into the muck.
