Ruivo Wins Race, Moene Moans Turn and River

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Manuel Ruivo opened to 10,000 from late position. Jelle Moene three-bet all in for 47,000 in the big blind. Ruivo made the call.

Jelle Moene: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Manuel Ruivo: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Moene saw a safe {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds} to keep his tournament hopes alive. The {q-Diamonds} turn and {k-Diamonds} weren't so kind, though, and he was headed out the door just before dinner break.

Crazy Eights as Grieco Coolers Cowen

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Nicola Grieco
Nicola Grieco

Action arrived on the turn with two players having just got all the chips in the middle. The board showed {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Robert Cowen in the big blind and Nicola Grieco in the cutoff were the players with their chips in the pot and Cowen was at risk with a slightly smaller stack. The pot held over 600,000 up for grabs.

Robert Cowen: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Nicola Grieco: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Grieco had Cowen dominated with better trips, but needed a clean river to finish the job. The {q-Spades} hit the river, both players ended up with trips, but Grieco's kicker played, so Cowen was headed out the door.

Drake Survives by the Skin of his Teeth

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The action folded around to Namhyung Kim in the small blind who ripped all in. Ian Drake was in the big blind with 45,000 chips and called it off.

Ian Drake: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Namhyung Kim: {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The flop came {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} to give both players a little of something. The {6-Diamonds} on the turn put Kim out front but it was the {q-Diamonds} on the river that gave Drake a double-up.
