Bohdanov Bullies the Big Stack

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Renat Bohdanov
Renat Bohdanov

Action folded around to the button where the table big stack Nicola Grieco opened to 4,500. Bohdanov Renat, in the small blind, took a few seconds before carving out a reraise to the tune of 15,500.

With the action back on Grieco, he rechecked his hand a couple of times before letting it go.

Aldemir Mixes It Up from the Big Blind

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The action folded to Roman Hrabec in the small blind who limped in. Koray Aldemir raised to 4,500 in the big blind and Hrabec called to see a flop of {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

Hrabec checked to Aldemir who continued with a bet of 3,000. Hrabec check-raised to 8,000 and Aldemir called. The {q-Diamonds} landed on the turn and Hrabec checked again. Aldemir announced a bet of 4,000 and Hrabec check-raised again, for the minimum of 8,000. That was enough to get Aldemir to fold and Hrabec collected the chips.

Watson Triples Up With Trips

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

From middle position, Mike Watson moved all in for 11,500. Action folded to Peter Jaksland in the small blind who made the call. In the big blind, Miroslav Forman was interested. He three-bet to 25,500. Jaksland let his cards go fairly quickly and the other two were headed to a runout with Watson at risk.

Mike Watson: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Miroslav Forman: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Watson was dominated and looking for help. He found a lot of it on the {k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop. Flopping trips kept him well in the lead on the {3-Spades} turn and {10-Diamonds} river to triple up and get back healthy.

Mattila More Than Doubles in Three-Way Action

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Three ways to the {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop, Jussi Mattila had checked and Nicola Grieco bet 15,000. Fabian Niederreiter called only for Mattila to check-shove. Grieco eyeballed the stack of his opponent for a minute and folded while Niederreiter asked for a count.

Once it was deemed to be for 54,500, Niederreiter made the call with the superior stack.

Jussi Mattila: {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Fabian Niederreiter: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

"I folded ace-queen," Grieco instantly said once the cards were turned over and Niederreiter grinned with an "don't tell me that". Nothing changed on the {2-Spades} turn and {8-Diamonds} river as Mattila doubled.

Alilovic Holds to Eliminate Tamasauskas

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Miroslav Alilovic opened to 3,5000 from under the gun and Vladas Tamasauskas defended from the big blind. The flop came {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Tamasauskas check-called a bet of 3,000 from Alilovic.

The turn brought the {9-Hearts} and Tamasauskas jammed all in for his last 16,500 chips. Alilovic quickly called and the cards were tabled. Tamasauskas showed {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a pair and a flush draw while Alilovic tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for the overpair.

The river was the {2-Spades} and Tamasauskas was unable to improve as he headed to the rail early on Day 2.

Stokkan Back In; Kubo No More

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Down to the last 14,000, Preben Stokkan was all-in and at risk and dominated by fellow short stack Junya Kubo, who had 2,000 chips more.

Preben Stokkan: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Junya Kubo: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Stokkan gained a lot of equity with the {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop to then improve on the {3-Spades} turn. Kubo needed an ace or six to chop, or an eight to score the final blow. However, the {k-Hearts} river was a blank and Stokkan doubled. Kubo was unable to spin up the final big blind and busted the next hand.

Drozd Rides a Rollercoaster, Comes Out Smiling

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The action folded around to Tomoki Matsuda, on the button, who raised to 3,500. The small blind folded and action was on Ondrej Drozd in the big blind who three-bet to 11,500. Matsuda responded with a four-bet to 28,000 only for Drozd to five-bet for his remaining 68,000. Matsuda called and the players tabled their hands with Drozd at risk.

Ondrej Drozd: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Tomoki Matsuda: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The dealer fanned the {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop and Drozd sighed in his chair, needing some help to keep his tournament alive.

The turn came the {q-Diamonds}, improving Drozd to a set of queens and a lock in the hand.

A chorus of "oohs" could be heard as the river came {q-Clubs}, giving Drozd quads queens and the double up.

Lebor Bets Every Street With Average Stack

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Konstantin Farber opened to 3,500 from early position. Directly on his left, Benjamin Lebor three-bet to 8,500. Action folded back to Farber.

"How much did you start with?" asked Farber.

"Ninety-four, exactly average stack. Not below yet," replied Lebor.

Farber made the call.

The flop came out {4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Farber checked in flow, and Lebor continued for 15,000. Farber made the call.

The turn brought the {k-Diamonds} Farber checked again. Lebor bet 20,000 to see another check-call from Farber.

The river fell the {2-Diamonds} and Farber checked for a third time. Lebor moved all in quickly for about 50,000. Farber folded equally as quickly.

"Wow, you were trying to bully me," said Lebor. "Because I am the old guy."

"No, no, not at all," said Farber.

Naum Barulia bet 4,000 and both opponents called. The {2-Spades} river was then checked through and Voinea won the pot with the {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}.
